Chased off the field

Post by Horseman »

Hi all,

Had this game for ages (got it in a steam sale some time a go) but only just got around to playing with it.

In one of my early games I chased some light Cavalry of the field whilst they evaded. All good.....only 2 or 3 turns later they returned.

In another game I had units chased of the field whilst evading. Three in total (I was playing a horse army trying to get the achievement) and none of them ever came back. One was gone for well over 10 turns!

So my question - is there certain things that need to happen in order for units to return or is it just random and I was extremely unlucky?

Thanks in advance!

Its luck. Units chased off the field may return, they may not. Generally, you don't want your light cavalry (or less-than-confident mediums!) operating too close to the map's edge. Even if they survive, they may never come back to the fray. I've lost a few battles partially due to my light cav getting driven off the field by my opponent's heavier cavalry, leaving them free to maraud their way around my flanks.

Thanks for the very quick answer - that first game gave me too much confidence in operating close to the edge. Will be more careful next time!.

Really liking this game - totally feels like table top gaming!
