Crash After Sevastapol

I move into the hex to finish sevastapol turn 17 and the victory screen comes up. I press continue to go the next map, then the hear a click noise as the usual sound as the general briefing pops up but the screen stays as the panzer corps 2 loading one.
The cpu and fan gear up massively to 100% then it crashes with:-

Any ideas? Seems like an unreal engine problem to me. The game usually runs at 54% of cpu so its not demanding but the graphics is something else. I've tried minimizing everything down to the LOD to save memory, and computation. I get 30 fps but it took a bit of tweaking the panzer corps graphics settings file.
In the meantime i'll go back to Dijon and go the Libya route see if it crashes anywhere on that path although i know libya loads fine i havent progressed that line. I'm new to these kind of games so apologies for the save file.

Nice game but it reminds me a lot of the neverwinter nights 2 release that took alot of patches to find the objects causing the issues to optimize the graphics, and was annoying for a couple of years. Trees.......Lighting......

Heres an idea... How about an option to pick the default mode as 3d or the 2d strategic mode(with 3d models or 2d models as a seperate choice).
Someone can then just change from loading in 2D to 3D by using the in game icon. It might help resolve the crash on load new scenario problem.

Sorry ... I do tend to rabbit too much.

Thinking about it if theres a nice person out there...could they just move into the final hex please and end the briefing on the next mission, and send it back then i should be able to load it in ok , and carry on.

Fixed a save for you; it should put you in deployment mode for Operation Blue.

NB: That camouflage is horrible :o

Edit: There might be smt wrong with it anyway, as I'm seeing the entire map. If you play without FoW I guess it's a setting, though.

No theres no FoW. I'm new to these kinds of games so it was a bit of a struggle early on. 3 star overstrength units with steamroller, and double attack on both the gustav and gerat should make things easier going forward though....

The camouflage set against the white snow glints in the sunlight saying here is where my anti-tanks are. The AI loves throwing tank units at them. Its alot of fun.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping i got the field repairs hero. I'm so excited to find out what the new hero is.

*UPDATE*

So i made sure all drivers, and bios, vc redist etc were the latest. Turned off the AV , and killed all running services i didnt need. I reduced the screensize to the lowest 352x240 i think it is. The game sat idle at 6% CPU and 250MB RAM.
I then loaded the game, and same thing happened. The memory jumps to 2084MB before dropping back to 1867MB. Then crashes....
So i looked through the map folder, and it seems my best route (assuming its a map size problem) is the persia line,and thus avoiding the later kursk/sicily problem too by going the ahistorical route. I shouldnt have a problem until the US missions if i'm right.

Thats enough of the game thats playable for me to make me happy. Although slightly disappointed i'll never see the splendor of kursk.

To confirm I used the editor to open and load the scenarios, and play, and unsurprisingly the biggest all failed to load...kursk,sicily,bagration,stalingrad,usa1, and operation blue...
The rest open instantly just fine.

In the end i modded the campaign tree.

I play the ahistorical line now.
After London the rationale is a US invasion is unlikely given the unification of europe under the evil nazi jackboot so the units swings east to help fight the russian horde.

So the following campaign is then the baltic (normandy being irrelevant) and onwards (should that be backwards cos of losing) to berlin NOT the USA or Cobra.

Works just fine, and avoids all the big maps neatly, and has a rationale. I just hope the developer doesn't mind :)
