Problems with Athens' missions

Post by ZygfrydDeLowe »

For starters I think that trading needs some rebalancing. I got Macedon to cede their capital region for some 500 Money and 200 Metal. And immediately after I got back most of the Money, since it was my mission to acquire it. Regions weight in transactions need some recalculation, especially for capitals, so that countries won't part with them so easily.

Another mission I'm struggling with is the one to restore Lydia. I got the province from Persia in a peace bargain - they ceded it to me after losing multiple battles, mostly at sea, I don't think I could reliably take it otherwise given the current balance of land forces.
Anyway - I'm trying to follow the tip from the mission description and use a "Liberate Region" decision on Lydia, but instead of Lydia other factions arise and grab it, like Rhodos or Lycia (all those factions disappeared during Persian conquest).

Strange, as the AI should be more wary about that, it seems I'll have to recheck the costs again ...

The decision is indeed a bit tricky to activate, there is no obvious possibility to force the nation appearing to be Lydia indeed. Perhaps the mission should be reworked in a very different way in the end, like "rebirthing" any nation ...
