I am kinda of disappointed with the lack of maps in multiplayer. I was curious if any of the maps from the original panzer corps could be imported over. My favorite map was Germany East. This was a map created by the Devs not a custom map created with the editor.
My question is: Is there a folder in my Panzer Corps 1 directory that contains the original maps that I can use to import into the Panzer Corps 2 editor?
Thanks

Re: PZC1 Map Question
Never mind! I found the data folder. Hopefully this will import and I will be all set.
Re: PZC1 Map Question
Everyone says the import PZ1 works really well. I tried it on two maps and it fails/crashes - though this was trying the large Europe maps people were talking about.
With Unreal Engine and the nice graphics we definitely have a map size limit. What that is before it causes crashes in-game I am not sure. Safest bet would be to split up a large map of the east into Army Group North, Center and South Operations and make each one of those as large scale as possible. Just a thought. I don't think we can have huge GGWITE scale maps.

Re: PZC1 Map Question
Well, I was able to import all the original maps. I had to tweak the unit caps too. The only issue I see is the damn maps always come in rotated 90 degrees. So, in Germany East the Russians are invading from the South instead of the East. Is there anyway to rotate a map in the editor? If I can get that fixed it will be perfect.NETSCAPE wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 2:16 pm Everyone says the import PZ1 works really well. Re: PZC1 Map Question
I just made a 182x139 map based off of GGWITE main map. All I have done is placed every City, filled terrain with Clear and Ocean/Sea with water. When I hit play in the editor to test - it can't even load the map... and I have to task manager force exit of PC2.

Did you have any luck with that huge map since then, Netscape?

Re: PZC1 Map Question
When PzC1 came out the biggest maps were 64x64, PsC2 is currently optimised for the same. You can go bigger but as you'd expect performance will increasingly start to drop off depending on your system.
PzC1 hex orientation was 90degrees different to PzC2 so any map will be rotated. There are also a lot of mechanical, terrain and unit references that could cause a crash. But many maps will load and indeed, before we had the PzC2 maps to test with, we used base PzC1 maps.
