Crashes

Post by Erik2 »

I experience more crashes in 8.4.1 than I did in 8.3.0.
These happens both in the editor and during play.
One of the more interesting is this one.
Restarting OOB results in this main screen. It seems the crash kills the options.dat file. Tried deleting this, but OOB is still screwed.
There was no option to fetch a crash report.
DxDiag attached (no errors reported that i could find).

Are you playing in 4K ?
I'm not playing in 4K, I played almost all the Red Star dlc and did some tests with the Editor without meeting a single crash.

Yep, 4k.
I do have a 'normal' HD monitor attached, I'll check if this behaves better.

Did you have one of the game data files open for modding? I mean those which are not just txt, like units, specs, etc.

When I work on those but forget to close them before launching the game I get this type of menus with labels instead of the real menu names. Could this be the issue here?

No modded files, but I may have had the specs file open for checking stuff while working.
