Why Can't I Land Troops on Newfoundland?

Post by MarkWayneClark »

I have no problem loading and off loading troops anywhere else, but I can't seem to unload ground units onto Newfoundland. FWIW, I am Axis, so it is hostile territory. The "unload" button just remains grayed out.

Any idea why?

Thanks.

Newfoundland is out of play territory. No players can place any units here. I think this is done to prevent e. g. the Axis from sending
lots of bombers here to harass the Allies. You can place air units on islands and get supply level 3. If the island is without a port then you can capture it with just the air unit. That is not historical and can disrupt the game balance. Newfoundland was definitely not suited to host numerous airbases.n

OK, thanks. I looked for that in the manual but did not find it.

I was of course trying to do exactly that, put a lot of fighters there to shred the USAAC! :D
