Order of Battle - control panel obscures unit exit point

Post by Aston »

In Order of Battle, how can I move or remove the status / control panel in the bottom centre of the screen? I don't see anything relevant in the Options and there seems to be no key combo. It obscures the unit exit points in the 'Afrika Corp' Luftwaffe scenario, and I can't get units off the map. Appreciate any help (Screenshot attached).
Thanks.

Thanks very much, Erik2. Look forward to seeing that.
All the best and otherwise enjoying the game a lot.

No, not a new UI option, the possibility of reducing the UI for a few moments with a Keyboard shortcut (Cheat code not very practical), it would be very convenient when playing on a "small" screen (15.6").

Example Germany at War - Barbarossa 1941:

GaW(1).jpg (282.88 KiB) Viewed 1380 times

I press F6, the UI disappears :

GaW(2).jpg
GaW(2).jpg (321.2 KiB) Viewed 1380 times

I press F7, the UI has resurfaced :

GaW(1).jpg (282.88 KiB) Viewed 1380 times

Aha, I've seen the 'hide UI' option mentioned in some thread.
I have the same issue with deployment hexes along the left map edge. A work-around is to zoom all the way in so that you see a glimpse of the hex in question.
May not work for everybody's default screen resolution, though (I use a 4k monitor and have set the max zoom in/out to 100/10),

Example Germany at War - Barbarossa 1941, the extended UI:

GaW(3).jpg
GaW(3).jpg (297.11 KiB) Viewed 1376 times

I press F7 and the extended UI disappears :

GaW(4).jpg
GaW(4).jpg (285.02 KiB) Viewed 1376 times

I press F8 and the extended UI has resurfaced :

GaW(3).jpg
GaW(3).jpg (297.11 KiB) Viewed 1376 times

A toggle switch is definitely the way to go. However, it is not readily apparent that the developers will include one anytime soon. If I had to guess, I would think that they will restore the "#videomode on/off" cheat code for this purpose. A bit cumbersome, but effective. It fell by the wayside in the UI upgrade for version 8.4.1.
