Game wont proceed to next turn

I have a iBuypower i series Desktop-3SR9E9A gaming computer w/ intel(r) core(tm) i5-8400 CPU@ 2.80ghz 2.81 ghz. Installed RAM 32.0 GB. windows 10 home version 1909, os build 18363.815.
Before 4/25/20 the game worked perfectly. Then on 4/24/20 the operating system received a Windows update, "2020-04 cumulative update for windows 10 version 1909 for 64 based systems(KB4550945) (2)".
That's when all hell broke lose. My entire system changed. I lost 2/3 of my desktop icons, downloads, e-mail, which I later found in other folders. I've had to relearn my entire system. Geek squad restored the system
at least 3 times trying to get me to where I was, but failed. When I found and launched order of battle, I updated to latest version so I could purchase the latest Russian campaign, things didn't go well and the update failed.
Then I tried to launch one of the campaigns already on the system. After the first move-attack turn, the game just sits there and the AI does nothing. No game thinking notice. I've tried starting from scratch, by un-installing
everything, and re-installing. Still the same. Please Help!

Hmm.. Strange issue you have there. The question would probably be what the “geek squad” actually did when they tried to restore your computer. Did you install OOB on a fresh Windows installation? If that’s not the case I would try that first.

Yes when first installed it was working great about a year ago on a almost new system.

And the geek squad used the windows 10 "restore" program.

I just fixed it by using the windows troubleshooting program!
