Can the defender make 2 or 3 small groups and slaughter two or three of your individual units + generals and then duck back in to the fortifications?

I suspect not. If the fortified units come out then they attack all the besieging units, which generally means they lose as they lose all the positive modifiers of the fortifications.Blathergut wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 3:24 pm Can the defender make 2 or 3 small groups and slaughter two or three of your individual units + generals and then duck back in to the fortifications?

Nice catch. IMHO this is an exploit. I think only 1 leader should be used in siege calculations.

Re: Improving Sieges (Removal of a gamey option)
I've double-checked this and there are some errors in my original post, it's nowhere near as bad as I thought... in fact I think it is wrong in most respects
. I can only think I was tired, or drunk, when I discovered it!
Either that or it was a one-off error that I can't reproduce.
In summary, it seems the besieger attack is the sum of the units irrespective of whether they are grouped or as one army or as individual armies.
It also seems that the attack power of the generals is taken from the highest ranked offence score of the generals present, plus 2 and this is capped at the besieger attack score. This means the highest score you can get here is 4 (2 from a +2 offence general plus 2).
I now don't think there is any exploit or gamey option and nothing to fix. My apologies to Pocus and anyone I've confused by this post.
I'll edit the first post to correct the error.

Ok. Appreciate the update. Good to know it's working as we had hoped.
