Briefing - Set Portrait
Does anyone know the format and specs the image should be?
Re: Briefing - Set Portrait
Hi, NETSCAPE! A quick research shows:
The briefing portraits of the German officer are located in /PanzerCorps2/Content/Gui/Briefing/Images. Those assets are DXT-compressed DDS 2D textures, 654 x 544 pixels, RGBA 32-bit.
The commander's portraits for player customization at campaign start are located in /PanzerCorps2/Content/Gui/PlayerCustomization/Portraits. Those assets are DXT-compressed DDS 2D textures, 404 x 474 pixels, RGBA 32-bit.
The *.uexp files contain the actual images, and the *.uasset files are the reference/type definition files.

To fully take control of the corridor, these two major crossings on the Vistula must be occupied. // PolandNorth1_5
If you see the opportunity, crossing the Vistula here in a flanking maneuver could make taking your objectives much easier. // PolandNorth1_6
Good luck on your first combat operation, Herr General. I would hate for it to be your last. // PolandNorth1_7
You may deploy the siege mortar by purchasing it from your prototype inventory. Be warned that such a uniquely massive weapon can never be reinforced as we have only built a handful of them. So use it wisely, and use it carefully. // AGCenter_5
Despite all our misfortunes of late, I bring good news, Herr General. Germany has need of your services for a task of the utmost importance. // Ardennes_1
While the weather is snowy you will be protected from Allied aircraft, but be warned that the skies will eventually clear up. // Ardennes_6
Make no mistake, our valiant Wehrmacht has been dealt a serious blow in recent months. But it's time to pick ourselves up, shake off the dust, and continue the war! // Kharkov43_7
We need to regain the initiative on the Eastern Front, and this is the battle that could determine our fate. // Kursk_7
Work your way up the coastline, reducing one Allied stronghold after another as you progress. // Levant_4
However, if you feel your forces choked by the narrow geography, newly promoted Field Marshal Rommel has organized two alternatives. // Levant_5
-- Next objectives are these three key cities on this river line here. // AGNorth_5
-- Good luck, Herr General. // PolandNorth2_5
-- Watch out for entrenched defenses in the thick forests as your maneuverability will be extremely limited. // Ardennes_4
-- Greetings once again, Herr General. It has been some months since last we spoke. Months of disasters and failures. In fact it has taken this long to merely scrape together enough resources to supply your troops. // Balaton_1
-- Expect major resistance from a well prepared enemy. Reports are filtering through that they possess an inordinate amount of heavy tank destroyer units, so plan accordingly. // Balaton_5
-- <i>The person on the other end of the line is speaking.</> // Baltic_2
-- But we were just there, I personally oversaw the battle... // Baltic_3
-- Well I'm sorry we can't be everywhere, I expect someone, somewhere, to actually also be fighting this war too! // Baltic_5
-- Expect a major attack here, as Army Group Centre no longer protects our southern flank. // Baltic_9
-- Be prepared to fall back to these positions, should the enemy pressure become overwhelming. // Baltic_11
-- Good luck once again, Herr General! // Baltic_12
-- Be careful of this region's geography, these mountain ranges will seriously hamper the movement of your forces, so prepare accordingly. // Caucasus_4
-- With that gap closed, you will be expected to hold the line across this region. // Cobra_4
-- So your only option to is crash straight through their lines here. // Egypt_4
-- I must recommend a fierce artillery barrage to soften up enemy anti-tank positions here and here. With their guns silenced, your panzers should be able to successfully engage and overrun the enemy. // Egypt_5
--Be warned that the African desert is a wide open and hostile place, offering little cover outside of scattered towns and villages clustered around the occasional oasis, so plan your forces accordingly. // Libya_6
-- At this point, all that remains is to take control of the canal itself. // Egypt_8
-- Here or here could be suitable crossing points. // FranceDijon_4
-- Well Herr General, I hope you're sitting down, because you're not going to like what I have to tell you. // Kiev_1
-- Your job is to punch through the enemy encirclement and provide an avenue of escape for as many of our soldiers as you can. // Korsun_3
-- This delay comes with good and bad news. // Kursk_2
-- Now the bad news. // Kursk_4
-- You have your orders, carry them out. // Leningrad_5
-- Personally, I recommend here, so you can quickly secure vital supply lines. // Levant_7
-- Just make sure to watch your supply lines, getting cut off in the desert is a death sentence. // Levant_9
-- I suggest you move quickly though, there are ominous clouds on the horizon. // Moscow_1_4
-- Therefore, your mission will need to be broken down into three distinct parts. // Moscow_2_4
-- It now falls on you to carry out this most critical of operations. Good luck, Herr General! // Moscow_2_8
-- I would look for, or create your own, route into the city from a more vulnerable flank. // Moscow43_6
-- Watch out for especially well entrenched defenses at these locations. // NewCapital_4
-- The frozen state of the river should make your crossing relatively easy. Just keep in mind that continued snowy weather will seriously diminish the combat effectiveness of your aircraft. // NewCapital_6
-- Remember: speed is paramount. If you aren't fast enough, enemy coastal batteries will decimate your forces while they are still in their vulnerable naval transports. // NorwayNorth_4
-- To aid you, we've mobilized additional Fallschirmjägers; quite useful for fighting in the mountainous terrain. Infantry will be far more useful than your Panzers in this battle, so I recommend you temporarily put your tanks into reserve for this battle. // NorwaySouth_4
-- I have every confidence in your abilities! // NorwaySouth_6
-- As you will be expected to advance huge distances, be sure to mobilize your forces appropriately. // OperationBlue_3
-- With that complete, you should be in a prime position to launch a final assault on this objective here. // OperationBlue_5
-- Remember that this operation has just begun; don't get us started off on the wrong foot! // OperationBlue_6
-- While I am sure you have been enjoying yourself on these desert excursions, I'm afraid I have bad news. // Persia_1
-- Keep in mind that time is of the essence, now more than ever. The weather is getting colder by the day, and I have serious concerns about the operation of your Panzers in muddy or freezing conditions. // Rostov_5
-- So don't worry about advancing inland. Focus your efforts on clearing your coastal objectives. // Sealion43_1_5
-- I want you to get in there and take charge of the situation! // Stalingrad_3
-- Launch a new frontal assault against the city, breaking through here if you want to secure an airfield for your light bombers. // Stalingrad_4
-- But your main task is to go block by block, house by house, and clear out the defenders from every hole they're hiding in. Expect nothing short of brutal close quarters combat so prepare accordingly. // Stalingrad_6
-- Bite the bullet and take control of this city, whatever the cost. Dismissed! // Stalingrad_8
-- I trust our long sea voyage hasn't made you sick, has it Herr General? We are about to start the largest naval invasion in history, and I would hate for a sour stomach to take you out of this fight! Hah! // USA1_1
-- Unless your recon can find a weak point, expect serious challenges to any attempted crossing. // USA2_3
-- Herr General, you and I have been through a lot in the campaigns of the last few years. And yet never before have we been this close to total victory while precariously dangling over the cliff of utter defeat. // USA3_1
-- After that, you will face a trio of natural obstacles you must overcome. // USA3_7
-- Whatever happens here, it has been an honor to serve with you. Dismissed. // USA3_11

Re: Briefing - Set Portrait
I made a full briefing yesterday. Took a lot of testing to see how certain things looked and functioned. The briefing assets are awesome in this game. Now I just want to throw in some photos from the German Archive where the portrait is normally.
Re: Briefing - Set Portrait
Sorry for the dumb question but do I need a program to make DXT-compressed DDS 2D textures, 654 x 544 pixels, RGBA 32-bit? Can I convert jpgs? How do you assign the portrait to the Briefing?
