Heros and Support Fire

I keep getting Hero's offering increased accuracy, support against mechanized attack, etc. when you get these Heros, to which units do you attach them. do they apply to artillery? do they only apply to defense? help!!! thanks

I meant to say these Hero's offer these features to the units next to them.

It depends on the exact hero - accuracy makes the unit get the recon bonus which helps the nearby units. Some support units around them and others add AT support to a unit for example. It really depends on playstyle. I usually add accuracy bonus to an arty moving in an group or AT/ST to my secondary tanks so they can support the them. Just ask yourself which units can benefit most from the bonus and then ask which unit is usually near them. Remember planes may not count as adjacent - they did not when I tested it but that was before recent patches so do not know if it is still the same.
