Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (WIP)
Thanks, guys, I hope you'll like it once ready.
Added the respective new unit pics.
Some minor infantry corrections are still left to do, but that's nothing compared to the work on the graphical stuff I'm usually not used to doing.
Then there are live animation tests next and adding/changing firing sequences, if needed.
(...but, I'm tired and exhausted now...)

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)
I think some countries lack trucks for good reason (Ex. China, who had very few trucks relative to their massive army), but I think it would be good to add more variants of trucks. The Americans didn’t only use those Studebaker trucks, they used a variety of vehicles. Wouldn’t it make perfect sense to have a variety of vehicles, all with different capabilities and uses? The British could definitely use this too, especially with their variety of artillery tractors and transport vehicles.
Klinger, you're dumber than you look, and THAT boggles the MIND.

Incredibly complicated and time consuming, I guess, as I had to do everything by hand and eye, so to speak.terminator wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:31 am Hi GabeKnight,

And please don't rush, Mr. T, it's the final leg and I'm a bit tense. Soon, okay.... soooooooon.
Updated the mod to v8.4.1 of the game today.
Added US, British and Italian sniper units. Updated Soviet commandos with new models and added new sniper/cavalry/commando pics.

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (WIP)
Agree. But don't tell me. Wouldn't help you a bit if I'd add something like that in my mod.
No, I don't, but I agree that this is a good idea. Horst's mod had a ton of those switches with planes. Very useful.
But if I started with one plane having a switch mode, I would have to do the rest, too. And I'm really no avionics expert and would not know where to begin with the stats.
I think that would be too big of a project for myself. Maybe someday...
Actually I think that Mojko's tool can handle mods, too. It just would have to be uploaded/linked or whatever.

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)
What exactly are Soviet Black Shirts ?
I red this on internet:
" The Blackshirts were Fascist paramilitary groups in Italy during the period immediately following World War I and until the end of World War II. The term was later applied to a similar group serving the British Union of Fascists before World War II and to members of a quasi-political organization in India. Inspired by Giuseppe Garibaldi's Red shirts, the Fascist Blackshirts were organized by Benito Mussolini as the military tool of his political movement."

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)
Remember ...
That the Germans lost 2.3 million soldiers on the eastern front,
USSR 38 million soldiers ...
and inappropriately blame everything on demographic losses ...
Conscription in the army from 1886 - 1928 ...The average return to the USSR is 52 years for men
And most importantly, the army archives for losses are classified until 2040, and all the archives of the NKVD until 2050

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)
PHCAS is making a Mod for PanzerCorps 1, the Blackshirts are in the Italian faction:
Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)
IIRC the nickname for Sov naval inf was more like "black death" or somesuch.
Black shirt is for those Italians indeed. Them Sov naval shirts weren't actually black, just the unifom worn over them. The shirts were (and are still) blue/white, like in Igor's pic.

The Germans called the Il-2 Sturmovik the "Schwarzer Tod" (the Black Death):

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.4.1)
Okay. Thanks for the input guys, the story's like this:
First, they were called "Naval Infantry" in my mod as long as the vanilla game had "Soviet Marines". Then they were renamed and I had to come up with a new name for mine. Someone I trust to have more knowledge in that field suggested that name and I chose it without any research of my own. Will be changed.
But...I'm not calling them "Black Death" or "Black Devils" that's for sure...
I'm open for suggestions - and for the time being they're going back to be called "Soviet Commandos"...or "Soviet Marines"...don't know
Igor, I always appreciate any suggestions, but seriously, I never understand what you're talking about. Sorry.
Except you mean the three Soviet infantry units (cav/commando/marines) having the same cost. Then you're right, noticed that too on the screenshot. But the infantry recheck and rebalance is not finished in my mod, yet. That's what I'm going to do last. Still on my list are more annual upgrades for the US and Japanese commando units.

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)
If you want something like Soviet Commandos, I can suggest you "Razvedchiki" .
"Reconnaissance and intelligence had a prominent place in the Red Army. The Scouts or "Razvedchiki" were also considered elite troops. Each rifle regiment included a company of scouts and the divisions, a battalion. These troops were always considered the best in the units. Well armed, they were often dressed in camouflaged clothing and were better fed."
