Commander: Europe at War

Hi,

according to wargamer you plan to release a turn-based hex-based WW2 game later this year. This sounds fantastic.
Could you give us some details on it?

Will the game be moddable?

Thanks

A WWII strategic game?

Darn Ian.

Guess I'm going to have to do more "lurking" over here then normal.

WTF?

Why would Slitherine tell that to some e-journalist, and not tell their fans here at the site? That seems very unlike the Slitherine we know. In fact, so unlike them that I would find it somewhat difficult to believe without further evidence...

Are you sure there isn't some mistake here, kafka?

How about you share the url with us, please?

OTOH, if this is true, I won't be unhappy about it. In Ian's own words, Slitherine is "attempting to compete in an increasingly hostile retail market". The game industry is a thoroughly weird one, and sometimes weirdness is required in order to safely navigate its hazards.

Who knows, maybe there is some peculiar advantage to be gained by doing things this way? I'd not begrudge the lads whatever marketing shenanigans they had to engage in. I just want to see them succeed, survive, prosper, and publish a really good game every 12-18 months or so.

Ahh, it's an E3 announcement thing. OK, understood.

Clearly this falls under the category of "necessary marketing shenanigans" :)

Both games sound like great good fun, and Arena Warriors appears to be a development of the LA engine, with (apparently) strategic elements as well.

By all means, bring 'em on!

We hadn't really thought this through! We were so busy getting ready for E3 we did not get time to prepare the web site with details. As soon as we're back we'll start adding some info.

Commander: Europe at War

including Spain's civil war in 1930s? And if United States could got involved in war, there could be Normandy Landing.
Seems like players as a kampfgruppen leader, and mostly ground warfare.
And there seems to be infantry units.

I hope they'll finish Legion II before these two. This game is what keeps me dreaming about endless hours of PC gaming pleasure...if it only had tactical battles, Spartan-like...
