Saludos, the mentioned things sound promising 8)

I also had an idea to make a switch for INF/ towed AT but found myself lazy to raise up so much different lines of infantry for each PAK model :mrgreen:

Hello Lennis:

Many interesting ideas the ones you are explaining here... I would be interested to see how do you implement them in game. Also, thanks a lot for the 2 cm Flak gun icons on its carriage. I will use them for sure! :D

I also always thought that light AA guns like that should have movement = 2 (just like HW Infantry) because in the ground support role they can take the role of a very heavy machine gun, because it was light enough to be manhandled by ther crewmen to be deployed in the battlefield. So my ideal 2 cm gun would have three switches:

- AA defense (in prepared position): Uses the regular AA (no carriage) icon: Movement = 1, normal, but passive only, air attack values. This way, this weapon will only work as a point defense system, because of its short range. Cannot fire to air targets by itself, but will fire in self defense or to defend adjacent units against air attack units.

- AA defense on the move: Uses the AA gun on carriage: Movement = 2, reduced, negative air attack values (again, only passive air attack)

- Direct fire on ground targets: Uses the AT gun on carriage: Movement = 2, active ground attack (full values), but reduced, negative (passive) attack value against air targets.

I hope you find those ideas useful.

PS: Of course I remember the scene from "Saving Private Ryan" when German soldiers bring in postion a 2 cm Flak gun and start firing it to the american soldiers that were assaulting a Tiger tank. Very impressive, indeed, specially the image of one infantryman having a leg amputated by one 20 mm projectile...

Looks like almost all Wehrmacht type of land forces covered - nice 8)
Maybe the opponents should get some variety for the balance reasons too :?: If this is designed for the tactical maps similar to Grand Campaigns for example, then adding several polish and soviet would be suitable :wink:

Lennis:

That icon will not work in-game. Icon figures have to be 148 pixels width at maximum to be correctly shown on the game map. Besides, heavy artillery pieces are disassembled in several components when they have to be transported to a different deploy site, and certainly the gun crewmen won't travel in their firing positions on the gun while being moved around the countryside :-)

Here is another icon which can be used for any siege artillery railway transport unit. 8)
