Hi,
the game, even with reduced shadow quality and no tesselation, still manages to freeze up all the time during all kinds of situations. Why is it so unstable and how are you planning on resolving this?
Greetings

same here,
no workaround helps, dxdiag is "clean as a whiz", system meets requirements but still...random freezes at mission change, savegame loading, starting game etc.
sorry, guys, this is a m***
Stop launching games during alpha testing phase.

Re: Game still crashing all the time (freeze)
Please understand that the game is based on Unreal Engine. It's a huge and complex software which was created by (literally) hundreds of developers at Epic Games. Unfortunately, on some systems it works unstable. It is quite rare, but it does happen, and when it happens, this is not something which we can fix on our end. We are trying to help our customers as much as we can, and we investigate every problem reported, but in some cases we hit the stone wall. Epic release new versions of their engine regularly. Perhaps migrating to a new version will solve some of these issues. But again, there is no guarantee.
Do you have any other games based on Unreal Engine 4 on your machines? Do they run without any issues?

to answer your question: I do have at least one Unreal #4 based games - up and running.Rudankort wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 6:00 am Please understand that the game is based on Unreal Engine. Borderlands 3
I understand there could be crashes during ALL kind of games, from time to time. But this? Almost every map freezes during gameplay, map cycle or at least after victory screen!
That is the solution? "wait if unreal updates their platform" Why do I feel bad about your kind of help?
Re: Game still crashing all the time (freeze)
I don't feel good about this either, but I also cannot hope to resolve all IT issues in the world by myself. However, if Borderlands 3 works perfectly for you, maybe your issue is related to something else. For example, here a person was having serious stability issues which got resolved when he turned off his anti-virus. This is one thing to try. If you have nVidia card, another simple thing to try is to turn on Debug mode: https://www.evga.com/support/faq/FAQdet ... aqid=59594
If you get a crash and see "Unreal Crash Reporter" window with crash info, could you please copy-paste the contents of this window into this topic?

Re: Game still crashing all the time (freeze)
I did not ask you for solving worlds IT issues. Did I?
I asked for significant help on solving an issue that occurs obviously to some other players as well. I might have intended to much from "Tech support" - in this case: you - who might feel offended and reacts in a defensiv way I can't appreciate. I totally understand that a workpiece of software like this involves thousands of hours of work and hundreds of dev. And again hundreds of hours for rollout and customer care hours. I knew that before you mentioned it and thats one of the reason why I do have 271 games within my steam lib. Not to count the standalone slitherin products...
Yes,
- I did checked my drivers / have them up to date (incl. AMD Radeon)
- I did checked my dxdiag
- I did checked any promising workaround provided by other players through steam community and here, and that includes
-- re-install of game
-- steam integrity check
-- and the one with running game locally without firewall/and or anti-virus working (even not in background)
and if it happens to see UE popping in (usually not happens when game freezes) I will glad to post this here.

My response addressed specific points from your and OP's posts:
You mentioned that dxdiag looks perfectly ok. Could you please post it here? Also, when you are running the game, how much memory is being used (you can monitor this in Task Manager - Ctrl+Shift+Escape)? Are we getting anywhere near 100% memory used? What the GPU usage looks like?

We know for a fact that the game is stable for a vast majority of players. I have tried to explain that the reason why it is constantly freezes and crashes on your machines at all kinds of different places is not due to a multitude of bugs which most other players miraculously don't see, but due to some unwanted interaction between game's engine, the hardware, and other software on the machine (including the drivers). All we can try is to identify the cause together. If this does not work, yes not much we can do, except waiting for a fix with an update of Unreal, video card driver etc.

Re: Game still crashing all the time (freeze)
Finally made the time to play even though I pre-purchased. Saving it for a rainy day...and I can't get it to start. There is an instant confession that it is an UNREAL ENGINE issue that generates wonderfully auto-generates a report to send for investigation. Initially, this seems incredibly impressive and well-organized. Then...the reality sets in. WHY? Is this something that happens so frequently that they set-up such a system to "address issues" or give the impression of such? I got an immediate cold chill and a shiver ran down my spine as I thought other game "engines," particularly ORIGIN, which I had abandoned years ago. I do hope that PC2 maintains it's integrity as a rather stand-up, no nonsense, ever ready and trustworthy game. It has been the I played FOREVER and logged countless hours on. THE GAME I turned to for solace after other games were bogged down by updates and hot-fixes.
I've RE-ENLISTED and I hope things will go for the better.
Thanks!

Re: Game still crashing all the time (freeze)
Some possible clues- PC2 runs fine on my new computer with Win 10 and new vid card, but when I try to run it on my older computer with Win 7 and older vid card this message comes up-

So if people can't get the game to run, perhaps their vid card and/or drivers have something to do with it?
