Thanks, even if I think it is not the best configuration it is fun to play and appealing to look.

Anyhow can't wait to play the Soviet campaign, let me handle these scenarios and we will see at Moscow!

It's not optimal that's for sure but it makes it more fun IMO and cranks the difficulty up a little.

I just can't bring myself to only play with Pioneer's as infantry.

Paris looks like a better scenario with the BEF present (if you go through Dunkirk and sink all the British ships they won't be at Paris). Yes, you'll have to keep your forces together if you use fighters defensively as otherwise the AI will just target unprotected units. Some heavy fighting but your troops got the job done; they even secured all the minor objectives in the west. Operation Barbarossa awaits.

@SineMora: much better, it would have been more easy then.

@Best75, thanks and welcome!

Scenario 7: Barbarossa South

Tough choice this time, I really liked the Desert War and the possibility to use the Italian units, but I cannot pass on Barbarossa :P

Losses replacements: Elite repl. for the Pz units, they are my best weapon for this map.
Total 1388 points, No core units lost.

12155 PP left and 64/72 core slots.

Bridging unit joined the mountain troopers in the reserve.

Purchase:
1x Sturer Emil - (3rd Pz Corps support)
I know it is expensive but I want it!!!!

Upgrade:
One Pz Rgt per division to Panzer IIIH
One Pz Rgt per division to Panzer IVF
1st Recce Bn to SdKfz 232 8Rad
1st AA Bn to 8.8 cm FlaK 36
Both fighters to Bf 109F
1./StG 1 to Ju 87R
I./KG 55 to Do 217E

Total: 890, one core slot left.

Hero, not a super useful one given that I am the attacker, assigned to 4th PzG Rgt.

Image

Deployment Phase

Open fields everywhere, few objectives to take, two roads to follow...surely I will lose this scenario!

Barbarossa South

Turn 1 (PP 11365)

Recon spotted enemy armor units, infantry around Lwow and Kovel attacked.

Image

My first award!
Image

Turn 2 (PP 11745)

Soviets counter-attack the Romanian troops, Przemysl captured. Three enemy units surrender and another couple detroyed.
Bad AI behaviour this time. the enemy A/C don't move, no attack, no rebase, nothing, they are just waiting my attack.

Image

Turn 3 (PP 12169)

A couple of suicidal attacks by enemy units (in perfect Soviet style I'd say) and 8 armored units spotted so far.
Lwow and Kovel captured.

Image

Turn 4 (PP 12269)

First armored assault wave repulsed, 2nd Pz Div. under bombers attacks.
Romanians destroyed an infantry unit.

Image

Turn 5 (PP 12269)

Spent 124 points on replacements, three A/C units shotdown.
Second wave encircled.

Image

Turn 6 (PP 12692)

A third wave is waiting me!!!
Others two A/C units shotdown.

Image

Turn 7 (PP 12586)

Spent around 300 points on replacements. Other enemy units encircled.

Image

Turn 8 (PP 12971)

Third wave encircled, not sure if others enemy aircrafts are still flying.

Image

Turn 9 (PP 13329)

Pocket cleared, marching towards Zhitomir and Vinnitsa.

Image

Turn 10 (PP 13497)

Another wave of armored units is awating my advance, great!

Image

Turn 11 (PP 13643)

Zhitomir encircled. 2nd Pz Division advances to Vinnitsa.

Image

Turn 12 (PP 14506)

Zhitomir captured and Vinnitsa encircled.
Romanians advance towards Tighina.

Image

Turn 13 (PP 14868)

Two cities left. All units are marching.

Image

Turn 14 (PP 14968)

The Horde!!!

Image

Turn 15 (PP 15357)

Balta...

Image

Turn 16 (PP 16043)

Victory! Ok ok...this turn was pretty easy

Image

This time all my units have been helpful, the balanced force made a great job!
AI not so great in some actions, I noticed several times during the campaign that when a unit is targeted the INF/tanks enemy unit attack before the ART increasing their losses, even when the target is the very same unit.

Unfortunately that's a problem that has always plagued Panzer General and its spiritual successors; the AI moves its units in a specific order, which can lead to stupid cases such as assaulting an entrenched position and then shelling it with artillery. Nice win. The next battle will be the largest you've fought so far

I recognize the , " Seen in Berlin 1945 " camo pattern. It is not my favorite camo pattern , but it sure is distinct , and has it's own radical cool factor. I always give it to some tank , artillery , or AT unit , and it really gives that unit recognizable personality.

1. I think Goering was right ; Germany's single greatest gaff in the war was not taking Gibraltar and sealing off the Med ' .

2. I think Germany simply cannot win the war without a lot more oil. i.e. the war will be won or lost in the Med '

3 . I luvs the Italian army.

4 . The very word , " Barbarossa" is depressing. Bad mojo , bad vibes.

So , even though there is no Gibraltar scenario , I obsessively play the North Afrika campaign.

Weird , I don't recognize the piece of equipment .

I suspect , though , that I recognize the sentiment !

I always buy a Nebelwerfer unit , even though I can't really justify it . I'm just bonkers about the Nebelwerfer.

Likewise , I doubt the 3.7 cm Flak 37 is the optimal AA piece , but I keep investing in it. At least it is dirt cheap.

Maybe it is my imagination , but the Stug AT series seems to perform a bit better than the Marder AT series. But I never go exclusively Stug. I always buy a Marder or two because I love its rakish looks.
