Weekly round-up
NikiforosFokas (Abbasid) has managed to avoid relegation from Division A with a win and a draw from his last 2 matches leaving Geffalrus (Indian Rajput) in bottom place. In Division B GDod (Polish) finished with a win to take third place, while in Division C MikeMarchant's (Andalusian) late surge saw him take the runners-up place from Garokan (Arab Conquest). At the bottom of the table already relegated remf220 (Norman) registered his first win of the season in his last match. In Division D bomber23 (Polish) beat Brenmusik (Welsh) in the last match leaving Brenmusik and telesien (Abbasid) tied for the wooden spoon.
Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
GDod (Division B) 3 matches and finished
MikeMarchant (Division C) 3 matches and finished
Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 45 out of 45 matches completed
Division B - 45 out of 45 matches completed
Division C - 45 out of 45 matches completed
Division D - 45 out of 45 matches completed
These are excellent match completion rates.
Player of the week
remf220 (Division C) I am giving it to remf220 because he won his first match of the campaign this week after I had put him in Division C for his first season in the tournament.

Re: Biblical: winners post your results here . . .
Weekly round-up
The Biblical section has been the one most affected by the coronavirus (plus it had a couple of players going AWOL at the end). In Division A dkalenda (Assyrian) finished on top by 1 point ahead of klayeckles (Kyrenean Greek) after the adjudications. It was a shame that one of these adjudications included the deciding match between dkalenda and klayeckles. There were 2 wins for batesmotel (Kyrenean Greek) in Division B where all the main issues have been decided. In Division C edb1815 (Cypriot) managed a creditable draw with unbeaten lunecastle (Babylonian) to deny him a clean sweep but not automatic promotion itself. At the bottom after the adjudications kerrak (Assyrian) was left in the wooden spoon position just behind iandavidsmith (Carthaginian).
Unbeaten runs of 3 matches or more
dkalenda (Division A) 9 matches and finished
harveylh (Division A) 3 matches and finished
blobka (Division C) 4 matches and finished
edb1815 (Division C) 5 matches and finished
lunecastle (Division C) 9 matches and finished
Match completion rate (45 matches in total to be played in each division)
Division A - 45 out of 45 matches completed
Division B - 44 out of 45 matches completed
Division C - 45 out of 45 matches completed
These are excellent match completion rates.

Div C
phoyle3290 - Lombard 493-567AD defeats rs2excelsior - Palmyran 258-273AD - 65-57
My opponent's cataphracts were fierce, but their lack of mobility kept them out of crucial areas long enough for my lancers to seal the deal. Close match that could have swapped at the end if rs2excelsior had another turn.
Thanks for the game!

Just one match to be finished off now in Biblical Division B. I have given a 24 hour extension as they are on turn 20 and they should finish tomorrow.

Re: Season 8 of the FOG2DL . . .
One idea I have for the Themed Event in Season 8 is to focus on the Avars, a set of predominantly horse archer armies that has hardly featured in competitive play so far. It might look something like this . . .
Group Stage (paired matches, 3 players in 4 groups - A, B, and C)
A v B . . . Avar 553-557 (no allies) v Hunnic Sabir 463-558 (no allies)
B v C . . . Lombard 493-567 with Avar 558-631 allies v Gepid 493-567 (no allies)
C v A . . . Avar 558-631 (no allies) v Slav 500-832 AD (no allies)
Semi-finals (paired matches)
Avar 558-631 (no allies) v Byzantine 600-649 (no allies)
Final (paired match)
Avar 632-826 (no allies) v Frankish 751-887 with Slav 500-832 allies
Any good?

dkalenda has won Biblical Division A!
Using the Assyrian army dkalenda had won 7 matches out of 7 before being stranded in South Africa without a decent PC due to the coronavirus. Once the adjudications had been done he just pipped klayeckles by 1 point. Well played dkalenda.

With 8 wins and a draw lunecastle has decisively won Biblical Division C with his Babylonian army. Well played lunecastle.
