Post by Warg1 »

Hi..I'm and old FOG player and just downloaded the latest versions. I tried to get to the multiplayer screen but it seemed there was no one there. Do people not play v each other online any more?

Probably most of the older players moved from old FOG to FOG II.

They usually get picked up pretty quick once they're posted. It's unusual to see them up there more than a day.
Just create one of your own without a password and you should have an opponent fairly quickly

If they are greyed out and want to play them, you will need to download the appropriate scenario from the community scenario button on the main menu page (top left, the round button with globe)
A couple of the big mods need to be downloaded separately (eg the TT mod)

The MP scene might be quiet for the Beta version, I don't know how many MP players use the Beta. But there should be lots of challenges for the release version of FOG II, it has a thriving multiplayer fanbase.

Most multiplayer players play private matches with passwords. Open games without passwords get joined quickly. You just need to set up a few games yourself and people will join.

The Beta uses a separate server. Nevertheless the way to get games is to create challenges and not wait for someone to do so.

There's no special thread to find opponents for multiplayer games. Feel free to post maybe including what kind of armies you would like to use, size of battle and what kind of scenario you are interested in trying.

Alternatively, you could simply create a new public challenge via the game and someone will likely take it up if they find it interesting.
