Begging for quality of life UI upgrade
In deployment mode, any generals beside the C-in-C that spawn with a big command radius automatically gets assigned to the center with the infantry. When I want to move said general to command a cavalry wing where the big command radius is put to better use, the process is incredibly tedious and time consuming - individually adding every single cavalry unit to said general's command, then individually moving every single infantry unit out to another general's command. Is there some way to say, select a general, then click on another general and have the two swap whole commands? Or is it two years too late in the game's development cycle to be asking for such things?

Well the reason he is given the larger command radius is because he is supposed to be the centre commander, so making it easier to avoid the intended assignment of generals does not seem like something we should do.

That explains infantry-centric armies in antiquity. but what about later cavalry-centric armies? Oh well, back to furious clicking during the deployment phase of every battle.rbodleyscott wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 4:06 pm Well the reason he is given the larger command radius is because he is supposed to be the centre commander, so making it easier to avoid the intended assignment of generals does not seem like something we should do.

why does sometimes one of the sub commanders have as big of a radius as a CNC ?

So that his command radius covers the whole of the infantry centre.

Whatever turns you on. I can't say I have ever felt the need to swap my centre and flank sub-generals.pompeytheflatulent wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 4:23 pmThat explains infantry-centric armies in antiquity. but what about later cavalry-centric armies? When you are asked to add a general it ends up on its own, that's when I like to add units to it. Instead of selecting each unit then adding them to the sub-generals command, it would be a nice feature if I could select a general and then just click on the units that I want added, rather than having to swap to a unit - add, swap to another - add, etc. It would make it much quicker. It's not a game breaking mechanic though, just takes some time, so would be a good wish list item for future updates.
