Absorb Nation Rome_Carthage (bug?)
I am playing as Rome and have been at war with Carthage for quite awhile now. I own several regions that use to belong to Carthage and a few of them are Rome Objectives that Rome currently owns (not war occupied/owns). Carthage is hanging on in Spain and in Africa near The Pillars of Hercules and has asked Rome for a peace treaty. Rome has enough War Score to offer to absorb the nation of Carthage as the condition for peace. Ending the turn Carthage agrees to the treaty's terms and Rome absorbs Carthage's remaining regions. This causes a problem as now the game says that Rome has LOST several objectives that use to belong to Carthage but Rome already owns outright. The game even wants to fire a General for losing territory that Rome already owned.

This must be a known issue, maybe they can/will address it with the Persia DLC and patch.

Yes, there is a known problem in the notifications where with a peace settlement it says opponent captured then you captured. It is not clear if this is just cosmetic in the notifications, or if it resets the "recently captured" flag (not sure if that is the right name). I believe Pocus is aware of it.

If a captured region has a Just Conquered or Under Pacification flag then the messages seem to be cosmetic. But if you have fought a long war and have held a region long enough for it to have completed the pacification process and lost it's flags then the messages can set it back to the beginning of the pacification process. It is an argument for either making an early peace or else exterminating your enemy.

Yes I'm aware of this issue, I need to take a look for the companion patch to the DLC.

Re: Absorb Nation Rome_Carthage (bug?)
I had a very similar problem with this last night. I was a glorious republic with 5 progress tokens when I negotiated peace with Carthage with the ‘absorb nation’ clause. Sure enough, next turn I owned all Carthage’s former regions. However, there was a huge torrent of message spam, many of them informing me that I had lost a number of provinces and then regaining them. Some were objectives, so I lost progress tokens, then regained them. I’ve seen this before and it appeared to be cosmetic - everything panned out ok in the end. This time, I learned that my ruling party, which started with ‘fair’ support, had been kicked out for being a failure and another party put in its place. The new party had the modifier which gives extra decadence. The upshot was that I finished up losing two progress tokens and gaining masses of decadence, sending me down about 20 places on the CDR.
In summary, I ended a successful war with the capitulation of a significant rival, and my government fell as a consequence, causing significant problems. This doesn’t seem quite right, somehow! Anyone else seen this?
