Viking starter army pack? (more or less shameless plug)

Post by baueda »

Hello guys,
I would like to offer a starter army pack as part of our growing Viking range (if you missed it it's at http://www.baueda.com/hostis_vik.html) and before freezing the composition I thought it would be nice ask around for what you would like to see in it... I have my own set up in mind but I'll keep it for myself to avoid influencing too much...

So what would you want to have into your starter army pack, and what would you prefer to leave out as optional?

Cheers!

Claudio

Well done Claudio.

I reckon you owe me £10 but no problem perhaps we will have a bottle of wine together one day.

Best regards.

Sorry mate,
the DBA and Basic Impetus army pack have been made available as soon as possible, we're trying to do what we can... thank you for your support! ;)
Anyway the army pack will include a couple of free packs compared to getting them individually, so how about this: as from now you have 2 free figure packs you can add on your next order. I realize there may not be much choice at the moment, but as well as the new Viking packs in development we will soon have also Longbards and who knows what's next... ('') this offer is not limited in time or space, you'll just need to remind me!
As for the wine, we will probably be spotted hanging around Salute wearing BAUEDA t-shirts and handing leaflets to all beautiful girls there (failing that any other fat gamer would do), so maybe we can have a pint together fairly soon... I'm the short one... ;)

Cheers,

Claudio

Claudio,

Having seen the figures I might have to invest in some to take on Simon's Byzantines here in Cambridge :D

Hi Claudio,

I put a post on MadAxes website on the Vikings. It might be worthwhile taking a look at that to see 'what you need'.

I basically said '1 BG of Huscarls, a couple of BG's of Freemen and a bunch of archers'.

Depending on how big your starter pack would be, I would think:

1 BG of 6 Huscarls (24)
1 BG of 8 Freemen (32)
1 BG of 6 Archers (12)

would be pretty good. That way if you buy 3 Starter Packs you've pretty much got everything you need for an army of any combination (rear supporting archers, no rear supporting archers but separately deployed archers, no archers at all).

Hi Ian,

great thank you! I've just been reading the post on Madaxeman site, very interesting... will have to think about it all, but thank you already for the input, much appreciated!

Cheers,

Claudio

Welcome... do I get a free Baueda viking tent? I need one for my baggage :).

Seriously though, I'll be buying one soon. In fact if you can point me to a secure site I'll do it now :)

You can look for your nearest retailer here: http://www.baueda.com/retailers.html
you can also get one directly from us but generally you'll be better off buying from your local shop...
