Multiplayer RNG Setting?

Multiplayer RNG Setting?
What is the setting for RNG for MP games, per the slider under the "advanced options" for single player?
Is it equivalent to 0? 50? 100?

Re: Multiplayer RNG Setting?
It should be equivalent to zero. There are no random elements to combat in MP. It's meant to be consistent, not lucky.
Re: Multiplayer RNG Setting?
As things stand now, it is 50%, which is the default value in most campaigns and scenarios (except puzzles). However, I plan to unlock advanced options panel for MP games, as soon as I add functionality to disable elements of this panel on a item by item basis (many elements do not make sense for MP, like Undo settings, Ironman, special challenges, maybe turn limit etc.).

Doesn't the scenario specific setting of 0% overwrite the default?Rudankort wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 1:08 pm As things stand now, it is 50%, which is the default value in most campaigns and scenarios (except puzzles). It did in BETA.
Re: Multiplayer RNG Setting?
You bet your *** I forced competitively balanced MP to be RNG-less. =D
Thar be no AC20 headshots in my turn based multiplayer strategy game if I have anything to say about it!

Re: Multiplayer RNG Setting?
Kerensky I do not like chess mode for multiplayer at all. The reason is, RNG balances the game play and favors the weaker player. This sounds strange, but it is true.
Without RNG a combined action of several units will succeed for sure. If it fails the plan was wrong.
With RNG is a risk to try a complex combined action. Without RNG there is no risk anymore. This favors the better player a lot because combined actions of several units are the heart of PC2. In this way PC2 will become a brutal game as chess is. Playing chess means you win perhaps one of duzens of games against a better player. With RNG your chance will be much better, which does overall mean the game is much more exciting.
Of cause there are times we all hate the dices. But we should love them instead.
Best regards

RNG will mean people will alt-F4 and replay turn for better odds. This thing plagued this genre ever since PG2 tournaments.
Anyway, if I had a choice, my vote would go for scenario settings customized by game creator.

Believe it or not, I have no objection to this.Rudankort wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 5:00 pmThis is the current plan.kissofpain wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 4:49 pm Anyway, if I had a choice, my vote would go for scenario settings customized by game creator.
The default setting should be no RNG. But I'm not saying it must be the only, mandatory, setting.
