unable to start PC2

Post by rrao56 »

Downloaded Panzer Corps 2
Had problems with the VC140_1 runtime dll.
As per advice on this forum, downloaded the Dx runtime files.
Now on trying to start the game: I get the message: Failed to open descriptor file ../../../PanzerCorps2/PanzerCorps2.uproject

My system is:
CPU: i9-9900k@3.60GHz
Processor clock: 100 MHz
Memory: 32768MB
nVidia driver 442.59

without logs or reports, please check your AV to see if anything has been stopped by that, and then posts some reports and logs

Thanks for the advice.
I had to disable my antivirus (Bitdefender) to download the program.
However, there are no log files available as I cannot open the game at all. There is no folder for PC2 under my games.
When I press the exe. icon, I get the message as detailed above
Failed to open descriptor file ../../../PanzerCorps2/PanzerCorps2.uproject
Attached dxdiag zip file
DxDiag.zip
(14.44 KiB) Downloaded 66 times

I have now sorted out the problem.
Weird solution but it worked: re-downloaded the original version and installed it over the update. :D

glad your sorted and can now enjoy the game, disabling AV tbh are never recommend, installing and running as admin sets up most, and for those what don't, we recommend adding a exception or following my advice in the sticky for your given AV
