Perhaps his nickname is "Pity".

I miss the days of Rome Total War where you could just put an incompetent leader on a rowboat and send him into pirate-infested waters. What's that? You want to ransom him?

Well, I guess we'll pay for an ear. Just to confirm the rest of him didn't make it. On second thought, better make that a heart...

You can do the same thing here just about. Send your poor commander's into battle with an army of two or three units and see if he gets killed with the auto fight feature. Playing Carthage however I would be thrilled to have ANY leaders show up, 90% of my armies are leaderless.

Yes but you can’t assign your faction leader as a general in FOG Empires afaik

Check your military expertise (?) in the nation panel. That is the ratio region/military buildings. If that is <1 you get penalized. Been there, done that.

All of Spain, Balearic Isles, Sicily, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta and every region of North Africa with only a couple of small revolts makes it so I have heavily invested in "purple" buildings. I thought that I had built enough "red" buildings but obviously I must not have. Thanks for the good tip!

Military expertise is 1.86
Leader force pool bonus is +6

I had 2 new leaders show up recently, a 1-1 and a 0-0. I was happy to have them both. I have a total of 4 Leaders now. I could easily use 8 or 10.

The only way to influence how rapidly your ruler meets his fate is to be old or decadent ... This will increase his 'chances' ...
