I can understand if it's difficult to come up with good photos from that particular era, so I can live with a disproportionate number of Luftwaffe photos.

I think there are other problems with the hero system that could be changed to have a more interesting effect (which I have talked about in other threads).

I just mentioned this in another thread.

I would think all this discussion regarding heroes' photos and names has an easy solution. Just make it possible for the user to rename the heroes just like you can rename your units!

Furthermore, why can't we just choose our photo for a hero. Sure, there can be a generic pool of "safe" photos that Slitherine provides, but allow an easy way for the end user to add photos that are not allowed to that folder, or wherever they are stored on PC2. That way we can customize it ourselves without Slitherine getting into trouble if we so choose. You want a photo of Michael Wittmann that you stole from some website? Fine! You copy/edit it yourself and add it to the heroes photos folder, or wherever. Then choose it when you are awarded a hero.

That way Sliterine gets out of any legal/licensing liability and those who care have that option to add flavor to the game.

I did this in PC1, but it was a pain. Plus, you had to pre-assign it to a custom unit as my photos were never randomly given.
