I have just noticed that my island is receiving marble as a bonus good - something it does not produce or import. Just across one water region on the coast a region produces it.
I thought islands had no "adjacent" regions to benefit from bonus goods from but apparently they do.
Does anyone know the details of how this mechanic works? Does it relate to the position of the port or the presence of harbors?
Islands have access to Bonus Goods across water??

Which island is this? Some are separated from land by a strait narrow enough for troops to easily cross, and that counts as a land connection. Other than that, I know nothing about this.

It's Eubonia just off the eastern coast of Greece. Looks like it's works between there and Atticus, Beotia based on what I can see. Probably Thessaly as well.
So I guess the way to test it is just see if armies can pass directly over land (holding shift).

Thanks for the help by the way!

Euboia does in fact have a 'strait' connection to the nearby land regions. You can see a tooltip with all of a region's adjacency connections if you mouse over the leftmost icon in the top left horizontal row of five in the region window.

Cool...never knew to look there! All kinds of info, including where the anchorage site is as well. That sure changes how to play those 3 islands of the initial home region for Burgundi. I never knew they could claim bonuses from each other. If I go to Malmogia or whatever, it even shows the two 'unknown' regions further in the shadowy world at the edge.

I think the key on map clue is if the border between the regions is sea then there is no land connection (& thus no access to bonus goods) - Malta/Sicily is a good eg of this. But yes that cluster off Denmark are all land connections
