Adjacent??? Not as it seems.

Post by Blathergut »

I assumed (incorrectly) that the troops on the island were adjacent to all the places surrounding them. But I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't raid to the west.

When I moved onto the island, I noticed that the coastline to the east lit up but the ones to the west and the islands south did not. When I tried to move I finally figured it out. They have to leave the island from one specific point, causing them to NOT be adjacent to the western lands. :(

You would probably see that if you had Anchorage. The the icon depicts the location of the embarkment. Maybe an additional icon would be helpful for those cases.

Btw +1 for going with Burgundi. I've pondered that, too! ;)

It's actually been interesting on Difficult. I was always use to Greek or maybe Spain. These dudes have manpower coming out of the ying yang! Now, being able to keep from plummeting into the depths of decadence...ah, that's another matter.

Another thing: It seems once I take a region, it's loyalty is above 100% in a matter of a couple turns.

I doubt I'll ever conquer the known world. But in about 60 turns I've formed my initial home region on the islands, started to build up food and $$ production. I've just taken a province on the mainland to the south, and am trying now to claw my way back up from those decadence depths that the battles and conquest caused.

But it's been interesting. IF they could ever keep the decadence at bay, they have the military might to do something.
