GC 1941
Today i finally took Moscow in Street of Moscow scenario (GC 1941) with DV... but still game throw me back to Demyansk 1942? Why GC 1941 dont end in Moscow if i take DV in Vyazma and Moscow? First time i dont manage take DV in Vyazma so its historical correct i need to retreat but if i take Moscow why i still end in Demyansk (without 2nd battle for Moscow)? Im completly sure if Germans took Moscow in 1941 there will be no Demyansk at all... maybe 2nd fight for Moscow (with possible win for Soviet or withdraw Germans from City) in blizzard will be more suit for the end GC 1941 if you took Moscow before. I remember Panzer General SE when i late took Stalingrad... i have to in next scenario leave the city with the least possible losses (Starving in Stalingrad was the name of break out scenario ). It completely ruins the feeling that I can influence the course of the war.

The simple answer is that your army did well but the other generals weren't as good so you were needed elsewhere. Either or that you outran your supply chain and had to fall back.
If you have time, you could create a mod for consolidating Soviet union gains, driving the allies out of Italy and Africa and then attacking USA. About half of that could probably be adapted from existing scenarios.

Well, I checked the other scenarios and paths in GC and I must say that Stalingrad was doing with more love. You have the opportunity to stay or withdraw ... you have the chance to break through to units and all your choices have consequences in other missions. Stalingrad has 6 scenarios with 2 paths ... Moscow has only 1 scenario. Maybe just adjusting the path. The MV in Vyazma will direct you to Demyansk. DV in Vyazma directs you to Streets of Moscow and ends there.captainjack wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 12:34 am The simple answer is that your army did well but the other generals weren't as good so you were needed elsewhere. Re: GC 1941
The Grand Campaign basically follows historic events. Therefore Stalingrad would obviously get a whole lot more attention than Moscow, as it was a real battle. The latter mission is mostly there for the fun of it.
That being said, there could be plenty of fun to be had from a more interactive development, e.g. an unhistoric success leading to unhistoric missions, which eventually can return to the historic line depending on the outcome. Like instead of dropping back from Moscow automatically, having to fend off a counter-attack or getting a fighting withdrawal because your flanks are now unprotected. But all of that would require a ton of time to spend on all possible outcomes, and it doesn't really fit to the idea of the Grand Campaign.

Events at Stalingrad played out over a longer period and had a greater effect on the outcome of the war, with Hitler's poorly judged insistence that it must be taken at all costs. It's a bigger deal in PC because it was a bigger deal historically.

Don't want to open new thread so I will ask here. I am currently on Vyazma GC 41, have around 17k prestige. Should I upgrade my artillery Sturmpanzer 1 to 21cm Mrs ?

There is a more heavily armoured in-series upgrade but can't remember when it is available. That would probably be the best if you feel you are low on prestige.
Otherwise the 21cm is ok, but rate of fire is 70% compared with 80% for 17cm and the 17 has 6 ammo rather than 5. Personally I'd go for the 17, but the 21 is good for bunkers and heavy tanks. If youdecide to change later, the 17 and 21 use the same transport and are in-series so are reasonably cheap to upgrade and free to downgrade.

Re: GC 1941
I keep my Sturmpanzer I. In 1942 is little bit obsolete ( pity that they can't be upgraded to sIG 33 II (Sf) ) but in april, may 1943 you can upgrade it to sIG 38(t) M, Wespe Hummel. I keep it and buy some new fresh unit from other "family" like Towed traditional artilley family and Towed rocket artillery. More info on this beatiful picture.
