Macedonien removed over 4000 decadenz in one turn

Post by Ardennen »

Hi,
i just saw a decadence reduction for macedonia.
In turn 106, everything look normal.
In turn 107 he lost 534 Culture points (which is bad) and lost 4121 Decadence Points (fu**ing good).

Is there an event or a decision to get such a reduction?

probably lost a large region, culture and decadence is stored by region so losing one can sometimes make a real difference

Judging by the token gain, they declined to Old government status on turn 105. I'm guessing they were Glorious before, so would've lost the +35% decadence modifier from that. If declining in government status reduces government age like progressing does, that seems like it should account for the remainder of the difference. There is also in fact a decision about reforms in your government that can reduce government age, so alternatively they might've done that while already locked into decline.

Taking an objective removes 20% of government age, which is a coefficient to decadence.

Is loosing one adding 20%?

I think, he could have been glorious, maybe he lost the status because been in the lower end of the culture list. He has a big empire and fights a sucessful war against Rom. Maybe he was preparing everything to get into a higher position and had bad luck to hit old monarchie. Still 4000 decadenz reduction is a big jump. In turn 108 everything looks a bit more normal, but he is still getting alot of culture points. I will check his areas next turn, there must be someting i am missing in this game.
