Why does 1 unit have small number next to it & other does not

Post by matthew2582 »

Just started a new scenario in Erik's Germany West 1939-40_2.0 and I have 2 units side by side - 1 is Fallschirmjäger and the other is Heavy Infantry - my question is - why does the Fallschirmjäger have a small number next to its Strength plate but the Heavy does not - Please see screenshot

Thank you

That denotes ‘fuel’ With planes, the number there tells you how many turns until they have to land. On land, it tells you how many turns they can go without supply. With airplanes, if the number reaches 0, they will start losing strength, and eventually die. With land units, like paratroopers, if that number reaches 0, they will start losing efficiency, lowering combat effectiveness.
Klinger, you're dumber than you look, and THAT boggles the MIND.

What is great with paras units is you can give them replacements - you fly to an area and one of the paratroop planes gets shot at and weakened - no biggy - after the para units parachutes out you can during the next turn replenish it - when they are in supply so the number 3 I think means their supply will last for 3 more turns. And depending where they are on the map such as behind enemy lines if they cap a flag they can get future supply from it in a few turns - may be best to cap it when they have 2 or 3 supply left because it will take awhile for the flag to raise up before they are getting supply from the city hex - other hexes that have supply depending on the scenario some hexes if you own them they give instant supply. So therefore too having paras moving with your regular army while in supply with them you can zoom so to speak the paras behind enemy because they will have supply for a few more turns whereas with most any other infantry doing so may cause them to during the next turn get cut off with supply so with paras ya don't have to worry about them getting cut off instantly from supply but then they will probably be attacked if left out there by themselves though but depending on the situation it may the the best move - such as flanking around already weakened enemy units in order to completely cut them off...
