Why Buy PzC2 When You Have PzC1 & OoB

Post by matthew2582 »

I have spent many hours watching YouTubers play/review PzC2 - and having recently started on PzC1 (which I am pretty impressed by) and finished OoB Blitzkrieg - I really cannot see a reason to buy PzC1 compared to those 2. Sure PzC2 "looks" cooler with the 3d sprites but gameplay actually looks like a step back - for example - no real constraints on logistics management

Having played PC a lot, and OOB some, and having had the opportunity to beta PC2, I'd say that PC2 is a lot better than PC and a lot more fun than OOB.

I am pleased with your assessment. Still, the video seems to be interesting, but some things are not clear. Plus it’s very bad to watch the video when the playing stupid.

Fortunately, from the 6th I'll be posting fairly clever gameplay. I hope that will give a better impression of the game.

How tragic!...i will then be "bereft" of my "Circus-Maximus-Entertainment"... of watching the senseless wholesale slaughter and extermination of ineptly/poorly led troops...who are maneuvered into prepared crossfire killing boxes!.

Where-will there then be the... "Fun/Enjoyment" of watching "Perfection"... in the carefully thought out...whole-sale 'Eviceration and destruction of the Enemy'?.

sometimes i really find it hard to understand your posts and points, but looking through the whole series of them, you seem to have issues and opinions of dislikes but continue to post regardless, each time you get a post like this, it's nearer and closer to getting a warning, as tbh, while your opinions and views means as much as everyone else's, you clearly don't no when to stop or give it a rest, admin sometimes does a week or so away so users cool down or alter there road of travel, not to stop opinions or views, just steer you back into the rules and ethos of the board, more of your posts get reported than almost anyone else here, and for a reason, this is the last time i edit or comment below one of them, please refrain, friendly advice offered this time, next time i'll remove or edit the post and let someone higher up check your whole post history and see if you fit in with the forum and rules, as quite a few of your posts could be seen as pure trolling tbh

this is a last chance advice and won't be given a second time, i'm sure my comment won't put you off posting so i await your next post and will see what direction and road your traveling on, not sure i can over turn that, that's your call, but good luck and hope it's the right call, as the wrong turn maybe a break from the forum for a while or a ban i'm sorry to say

As an example of my last post, which has just initiated your current response, how can I explain that I'm only having some fun with the Game, I'm not actually being 'Dead' serious here, as in this particular case...I was not being serious!... yet...you obviously seem to be taking it just exactlyl that way?.

I'll try to lighten up, and I would greatly appreciate it, if you could try to do the same.

i'm not the one who's reporting your posts, it's members not staff or the developers, (staff just edit or remove or ban, dev's have the same power but never use) so members are reporting you for trolling, i'm just answering to both, thanks

I think Panzer Corps 2 is definitely an improvement over Panzer Corps 1. Here is just a few things that come directly to mind which I see as a big improvement:
  • general strengths and weaknesses
  • air combat
  • varied unit slots requirements
  • encirclement mechanic
  • dismount unit after move
  • prototypes / captured equipment
  • AT support fire
  • AA support fire with range 2
There are still some missed opportunities such as:
  • naval combat
  • small / large air units (separate attack and defence values for small / large air target)
  • better solution for supply mechanic (suppression recovery is way too fast, encirclement mechanic is a bit weird and not very intuitive)
  • better solution for retreat mechanic
  • buying a transport is not a real choice, just a matter of resources (transport should take unit slots or it can be a weakness that player can choose to take that transport take up 1 unit slot each)
In the context of OOB comparison I think you should view these as two separate games. OOB is trying to be more tactical but I think the line is quite blurry. For me, I think I like OOB game engine better, but one the other hand Panzer Corps team had much more creative scenario design and also provided much more content. Overall I like all of these games, it's just different experience.

Many of these games, PG, PzC, OoB & UoC are some kind of puzzles, if you are going for all the brilliant victories or secondary objectives or any kind of achievements then you really have to think your turns and movements and attacks and in which order through.

So that for me is a really huge attraction...and PzC II just gives more puzzles and has all the improvements Mojko mentioned above.

Rather than be confrontational, why not try to find some common ground? I think we can all agree that the guy who Slitherine hired to do the playthroughs after the official release date event was awful. He didn't have any knowledge of the game, he wasn't entertaining, and he comes across as a slob. Since then, others have done better videos, but they often fall into the trap of being boring (e.g. watching someone else play a board game start to finish). Why not put together a video that really showcases the product? One that was edited to showcase the new gameplay mechanics without having to be 1.5 hours long? I think lots of people would be interested.

Right, but even a humble peasant is still allowed to have an opinion in our society (assuming you live in a democracy, you could be Russian for all I know I guess). So what are your thoughts on Mr. YouTube's play through?

Let's keep things both civil and useful please. Nobody has to provide you with their opinions on demand. The point of Zak's post was the poster whose post was borderline rambling rant.

I am locking this thread. Feel free to open a new one with a more measured tone.

Cheers
