Any idea why supply would run out mid-scenario?
No enemy interference, no additional allied units to cause it. Seems to happen when I take over a particular enemy hex but I can't figure out if that is the issue or if it's something else.
Any ideas why supply would go to very low (all units turn orange) in mid-scenario without disruption or additional allied units?
thanks in advance --

Re: Supply runs out abruptly!?
What Campaign or Scenario are you playing ... I was playing a Custom Made Campaign the other day ...
and one of the scenarios I played this happened but more than likely it is because the person who made the scenario wanted this to occur for some reason - maybe fog of war etc.
Anyway the OOB scenario editor allows for many different choices pertaining to the effects that can happen in a scenario for example there is an effect called "Change supply output"
when a scenario is made a designer must pic a particular hex or even more than one and assigned a specific number of supply to be obtained from that hex. This supply allows supplies to go to all units the designer has in the scenario as long as there is no interference as you mentioned. BUT !!! A scenario designer can cause particular triggers to occur. These triggers have an Event then a Condition and finally an EFFECT each trigger has these three things therefore, a designer can make a trigger from scratch have the EVENT be "ANY EVENT" - this is one of the choices under event. Then they can have the Condition be "Change in Hex Ownership" (again, this is one of the choices under Conditions) then the Effect could be "Change Supply Output" (this is one of the many choices under effects.
So the designer in this example has the Supply Output change for a particular hex (the supply hex) when there is a change in ownership of a given hex that the designer chooses. This could be ANY hex on the map if you enter a specific bridge hex that the designer has chosen as the particular hex that causes this trigger to happen when this bridge hex changes ownership Then if causes the other hex the supply hex to change its supply output.
Frankly I find it quite aggravating playing scenarios where in these "surprises" occur but a designer does have this flexability I have also had enemy units spawn in territory I have already conquered even Victory points and even though there is no mention of partisans or anything then wham regular enemy units are suddenly on a previously taken VP this is the problem with playing custom campaigns and scenarios you are at the mercy of the designer and any sick twisted ride they want to put you on... when you get fed up use the cheat codes and add land cp or resources or turns or just end the scenario with a win if it is really a pathetic one ... if you do add landcp make sure you have the supply to support it...

Re: Supply runs out abruptly!?
Gunny,
It's a scenario I'm developing. I went through your list of stuff to check and no joy.
I would say that it's a one time thing, but it has happened twice and I ain't liking how this is going!
thanks again,
when I get done with this campaign, I'll be happy to play some of yours.
Erik, my man -- have you ever run into anything like that -- unit supply suddenly being insufficient to sustain deployed units with no real explanation? I have tried to examine supply outputs and there really isn't a clue there either. Just wondering...

Short answer, no...
Post the scenario here and ask if Mr CSI, Gabe or any other trigger-happy guys could take a quick look at your scenario.

Thanks Erik -- and anybody else that's interested.
The allies run very low on supply when about 5 hexes NNE of Avellino. Strange - can't figure this out. This is definitely pre-release, so take it with a grain of salt.
If you aren't interested in helping to troubleshoot, please don't download -- it's not interesting yet and it's definitely premature.

Re: Supply runs out abruptly!?
I think you found a real game bug here. IMO it shouldn't have worked from the start.
Lucky for you, the fix is easy.
Basically you have one supply dump for all land units in the SE corner of the map. And I think the main trigger for this "bug" to happen is, when the supply pocket around this supply hex closes and it gets "re-evaluated" by the game mechanics somehow.
But the main error is that you've put a LAND supply hex onto a WATER hex.
Solution: Either change the hex to land or move the supply point one hex north.
