Why the enemy’s army is faster tan mine?

Post by juanval »

Enemy army (Iberi) is going to attack my región Arevacia (mountain) from Oretania (Hill). In order to defend Arevacia region, I move my army (Celtiberi) to Arevacia from Durius (Plains)

My army has a 5 movement and the enemy only 3. Furthermore, enemy has to cross a river.
In the transition to next turn I see that enemy arrives Arevacia and fights only against the 1 unit stationed and 2 automatic units. My main army (9 units) doesn’t arrive even to fight a battle as a attacker and remains at Durius región. Two times I tried reloading a saved game and 2 times happened the same.

Why my army didn’t arrive first to Arevacia to start battle as defender?

Do you have the saved game before the move? That will be faster to make a correct analysis and not shoot in the blind. Please send the aforementioned saved game to support@slitherine.co.uk, reference this thread and mention my name or the game, thanks!

These sneaky warriors, they must have taken an hidden path through the mountains

Ok. There's no bug. I'll post the message Pocus asnwered to that question:

"A mountain costs 6, and neither of your two armies, your and the one of the enemy, has a movement speed of 6. So there is a rule that triggers which say that you can always move one region per turn.
During the hosting phase where all movements are treated in parallel, each faction is picked at random and will execute his move. In this turn, Iberii has been picked before you.
So you see where this is going. They are picked first, the special rules allows them to enter after all their move, they do. They kill your smaller units.
Then it is your turn, and your army moves last.
Now, I see you are also pushed back one region!
This is because the Celtiberii were targeting Durius in fact, and as your movement and their movement were antagonistic, the bigger army wins and they manage to push you back in Durius.
It feels rather unfair I know, you end up not joining first in due time, plus the enemy even cancel your move.
"

Well. This is a game mechanic I'll take into account next time I prepare my troops for war
