Quite ambitious project you have in your hands, Zekedia (the whole second sino-jap? wow). The chinese theatre of war was one of the most welcomed additions OoB brough to my wargamer menu, so more dishes from the same restaurant will be greatly appreciated :) Do you plan to make the british or the chinese playable? Also, i'm curious if you will try to model new units in 3d or will just reuse the resources already in the game.

Anyway, if you need help (and i can help somehow) you know where to find me :)

Best of lucks with the project :D !

The Sino-Japanese war is a strong maybe. I’ve worked on some of the scenarios, but its hard to do without maps. I’ve resolved to Google maps, and old maps written in Chinese. Luckily, I have a friend who speaks several dialects of Chinese, so stuff should be kinda intelligible. The British will certainly be playable in the Malaya Campaign, but I’m unsure about the Chinese. Their battles are mostly just throwing infantry at the Japanese. Its similar to the Spanish civil war, but there were few support units. Very few tanks, artillery guns, AT guns, planes. I may make a playable Chinese scenario or two, but probably not the whole campaign.
I’m mostly reusing old assets. Most of the textures I would need to add are unavailable for me to modify. So, its mostly old textures that I use new.
I’ll post a few pictures of the maps when I can.

Yeah, you are quite right, the spanish civil war is mostly about masses of infantry clashing with each other, which underuses the funniest OoB mechanics. I am squeezing my brain to make it interesting in The Spanish Prelude (defensive positions, retaining reserve troops to make the rhythm of deployment important, subtype of infrantries...) but I think that at the end of the day tanks and other armoured units are what makes the game shines the most.

Regarding the textures, and since you liked the skins i used in TSP, don’t hesitate to ask for help or ideas or direction if you feel you need it :)

Anyway, looking forward to see some pacific action around here soon :)

I should have the Shanghai done soon, so you all can give some pointers on everything. :D
In the meantime, I’ll try to post some pictures of new units and maybe some pictures of the map tomorrow.
I’ll need to see ya to talk about adding some aircraft sometime soon...
