Super low Fps.
My game is super sluggish, so much that I can not really enjoy it anymore. While i play in mp my fps are near 5 to maximum 15 fps. Is this normal??
I am sure i have update my drivers, i choose the pc to use only the nvidia card, i have turn off shadows but all to no avail. I post my system Infos so maybe anyone can suggest to me if I can do anything.
Windows 10 Home
Asus GL553VD
Inter (R) Core TM i7-7700HQ CPU @2.80 Ghz

you don't mention what GPU your using, so if onboard, then yes that's normal
you say you have a nvidia card, but that's not to say the game is using it if you have more than one, you need to first select it

Oh yes. This and also i have trying to low the resolution (almost to every option), to run a game boost (from the Driver Booster), i have re-install the game. All these with no results. Playing more demanding games on the same laptop drives me crazy that i can not fix it. I do not know if I am the only person with this problem.

Re: Super low Fps.
yep, if that's added and done, then there is nothing else, apart from lowering what's mentioned in the link i'm sorry to say,
have less running in the background, it all helps
the problem with latop's are,
they slow down the CPU and GPU to save battery life
so you need to run on mains, alter the power saving settings so nothing is slowed down while running on mains, make sure your fans clean and good before you do it as for long use it can overheats if covered with dust etc etc.
turn off all power saving settings, screen savers, power mode to max and turn off disable the HDD when not used etc, or as it powers back on, the system waits and sometimes hangs while it does.
normallys the HDD is a laptop is a 5400, which is a low powered slow device meant to save battery life, but not made for speed of access, same applies to ran used, CPU and GPU

Re: Super low Fps.
Thanks for the advice anyway.
I do not know if it helps somehow but the problem is while playing the game itself (especially in the mp games). Strangely as you can see in the images the problem is still there even in the deployment phase where there are not any movements or many troops in the map...

Re: Super low Fps.
no worries, if memory serves me right, you need to put 0 in the HDD settings box
here more of my windows 10 tips as well if you want to try or use them
i alter windows 10 for maximum backwards compatibility to work plainly with older games
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4454024
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4491486
even if doing all of it you get it to 20+ FPS, it may help with the look and feel and playability of the game, 30 is better and about the default, but most will get 60 FPS plus with a dedi card tbh

Re: Super low Fps.
Zack I feel deeply gratitude for your help. I have the HDD in O and never but nothing changed. Yes i would be more than happy to get a 30 fps since it is a really torture to play with 5 fps. The really strange thing is i can play Crusader Kings 2 without any problem. I will try these tips also. But does compatibility has to do anything with FoGII (since it is a new game).zakblood wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 10:48 am no worries, if memory serves me right, you need to put 0 in the HDD settings box

Re: Super low Fps.
compatibility no, but my tips are to add something including with windows 10 which aren't enabled by default, and disable something added to windows 10 which most won't ever use, the less that's running, means more, not less compatibility.
while more than likely it will make no difference to FOG2 tbh, some may make some difference to other games, a clean startup will maybe make more difference
eg load less each boot i don't load the elevation service as it run as admin anyway, so not needed on boot imo and have never had any issue with it, as it's only a repair tool on a failed update

Re: Super low Fps.
I do not know how i do not know why but changing to integrated it made it far better. Now i do not have less than 25 fps. It is not excellent but it is far better than the previous 5-10 fps.
