Blue Max Mod Help

Hi all,

First, I'm new to the SC series but am loving it. I loaded the Bluemax mod into the mod folder and it shows up in the options screen. However, when I click the box to activate it, nothing happens. Is this due to Steam? I am not terribly adept at the mods yet when it's not on Steam so I'm unsure what I am doing incorrectly. If this is the wrong forum, I apologize but a search around didn't pull anything up for me unfortunately. Any help is appreciated!
