Anybody have any idea how to have units pick up water transit vehicles when they reach the shore? Ports won't work because I need them to use amphibious vehicles.
Put another way, does anyone know how to use a trigger to enable a ground unit to cross a body of water (not river...)?I tried putting amphibious vehicles at the water's edge but no way to have ground troops board them.
thanks in advance,

Repositioning unit ?
But all this seems very complicated, the simplest things are the best

Boarding tp present will not work, as TPs are attached to units, so a ground unit will not care about another TP standing around, even when it's empty.
Easiest way would be to spawn AI units on water, including naval TPs.
However, getting them to move land - water - land is way more tricky, and I'm not sure right now if it works at all.
What you *could* try is to give the units an AI "move to" order with another landmass as target. But tbh I never tested this myself as I never needed it in a scn.
Those units would need access to harbour hexes to embark. I assume it would be rather difficult for the AI to follow complex movement patterns.

All, Thanks for the input! just wanted to see if I was missing something in the triggers. I can get by with what I have.
FYI, don't try putting ports on the same hex to cross a lake. It doesn't work. You can place two ports across from each other on a one-hex lake, but you can't move the pieces onto the port to cross. I wanted to replicate a river crossing wherein the US infantry mounted Ducks when they got to the river. No can do!
Simple is best!
