Hi There
I have a idea to use a BG of elephants in a Battle line with a unit of four Cats either side of the elephant BG.
Now the question is this, these Cats can either be Drilled or undrilled.
I have a idea of keeping this Battle Line together through the battle. Being a mixed Battle Line do the they have to go down to the level of the lowest BG ie all move as undrilled.
Don't want to waste points if the Cats move as undrilled in the Battle Line.

Re: Battle Line
Sorry if I am being thick, but what difference does it make whether a Battle Line counts as Drilled or Undrilled. There isn't anything that a Drilled BL can do that an Undrilled one can't. Is there?david53 wrote:Hi There

If you instead mean Cataphracts, you must keep in mind that they disorder when at less than 1 base width from elephants.

But the good thing is that they won't lose dice if are on either side of the elephant BG because only two bases at most would be disordered in each BG of cataphracts.
Re: Battle Line
Yes but they only disorder two bases and thus do not lose any dice as they don't have three dice. Any enemy BG count the disorder thereby losing one dice per three. Although they will if they lose a combat and have to test count the -1 for disordered...marioslaz wrote:When you write Cats do you mean some beasts which meow, doen't it?david53 wrote:Hi There

Re: Battle Line
I supposed you would have interpreted the rules so, limiting the effect to the single base and not to the BG, and likely you are right, form rules point of view. But is an historical vileness to accompany elephant with cataphracts instead of LF.david53 wrote:Yes but they only disorder two bases and thus do not lose any dice as they don't have three dice. I fear I will stick to Cataphracts instead of LF, at the same time fighting my Cataphract army against a knight army that is 700 years in its future....
