Looks like you're in a minority of one Dave.
Why not give in gracefully?

I have done lot's of things gracefully. Just giving in isn't one of them.
I am fine with the intent of the rule - I would like something in the rulebook or FAQs to back it up though.
I don't want to be faced with this in a game in the future to say "close combat means about to throw dice in the next combat phase" only to be asked "where is that in the rules then?"...

So if i am in overlap on a unit that has another BG impacting into it, i am in close combat during the initial (first) impact phase. Even though i get no dice? i could see it either eay but from your answer presume yes?terrys wrote: But if you need an answer to this......
Any unit that would get a combat dice when the next combat phase comes around is clearly 'in combat'.
That you are but if you BG is only in close combat as an overlap it is allowed to evade which was the issue at the start of this whole thread.hazelbark wrote:So if i am in overlap on a unit that has another BG impacting into it, i am in close combat during the initial (first) impact phase.
