Weather?

Post by Strategiser »

Hi all,
Quickly perusing the new second edition rulebook, I could not find any reference/rules to weather setting apart from how the snow and rain can impact the firing and combat phases of the game. I am relatively new to FOG (but not new to Napoleonic wargaming!) and so I would have assumed there should be the typical weather rules somewhere in the book. Grateful if you could please direct me to the relevant page(s).
Many thanks!

There are not actually any set-up or weather rules that dictate that it is raining or snowing.
The reference to modifiers for snow/rain are in the rules to allow for the effects of bad weather in campaign/scenario/historical re-fight games.

In your standard 800 (and also now 500) point games, the weather is always sunny :)

There is an active FoGN v2 Facebook page "FOG Napoleonics" that would be helpful if you are new to the rules.
You can download from the files section there something called "Dave's Tactical Guide" which is worth reading (there's also QRS sheets, scoresheets and army list builders for v2 available from the facebook page).
