Bought FoG:E from STEAM can't access multiplayer

The game keeps telling me that login was unsuccessful whenever I try entering my Slitherine 'Forum' account credentials. My credentials are correct yet I can't play in a multiplayer match because I can't get past the in game login screen. Has anyone else run into this issue?

NOTE: DO NOT BUY matrix/slitherine games from the STEAM store if you want to play multiplayer. Always buy from the matrix/slitherine store.

I bought via Steam.

No issues whatsoever.

If you contact tech support they will sort it for you.

Remember that you will have a different password to access the forums and to access your Matrix/Slitherine account.....I would get that is the cause of your problem. Wrong password being entered.

He checked his password, it is the same. He tried to 'create' a new ID in game, but it wouldn't connect.

He posted here, because this is the 'techsupport' forum.

You are meant to be able to log in to multiplayer using your unified Slitherine account using the Steam or GOG versions of Empires. I am not aware of any general issues preventing this, so in this case it would be best to contact support@slitherine.co.uk and they should be able to troubleshoot more specifically what the issue with your account is.

Thanks for the advice Andrew. I'll email Slitherine and see if they can help. Hopefully I will be able to share the corrective action here in this thread for future reference.

Problem was solved by having the admin change my username and password. I think the problem was that my usernames on both the forum account and the unified accounts must be the same. The passwords had to be synced to the same as well. I was able to log into multiplayer.
