I've learned that no news here is just . . . no news. I would not read anything into the lack of updates since the announcement was barely six months ago and took the form of "We are going to do this" rather than "Here it is." It's probably a major undertaking; I just hope that it's not going to hold back development of the computer game.
EDIT: Although, I will grant you this; the OP did say "Order of Battle: World War II will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this spring. Stay tuned for more information!" Regardless, I'm a big fan these days of taking things as they come in OOB-land.
I wouldn't mind it on the Switch to be honest... or any portable console. It's surprisingly comfortable to play strategy games on handheld consoles.
Oh well, I'll be patient then.
I am also one looking forward to a console release. I know these types of games are more suited to PC with mouse, however I have now played several PC games ported over to console that ported over to controller support and were very well done. On several I enjoyed the games way more on controller than on M/KB. Drive on Moscow, being one, and several RPG's from Obsidian.
In many instances, the dev farm out the console port to a third party who has experience porting PC games and that helps them not take resources away from the PC development. I do not know if that is the case here or not. If it is done decently, like Erik2 said playing on a larger tv while lounging back could be great! Here hoping it happens and I will support them as much as possible.
I have been playing Fantasy General Invasion on PS4 and Xbox One, (I double dipped to show support for console ports), and have been having a blast playing on my Big TV. I really hope they still plan to port over Order of Battle in the same fashion, as it works well and I enjoy sitting back and using the controller. Any way just commenting to show support and I will purchase day one if it arrives on console.
