Playing Carthage I have just noticed that the capital has moved from Carthage (4 walls, Defence value 115) to Auzeus in Numidia province (1 wall, Defence value 42). I'm not sure when this happened. The republic is stable and for sometime (its now 12 AD) has been the world leader in terms of regions, second in legacy. At no stage has Carthage region been held by an enemy, nor was it a usurping region when there was a brief period of civil war when moving from a long period of decadence back to stability. Nor has the treasury ever been exhausted.
Why would this happen (especially to such a weak alternative when there are plenty of more strongly defended cities locally) amd more importantly how do I move the capital back?
Capital moved from Carthage - how to restore.

That's not a good news, it should have been fixed. A capital could move when you capture a new region (to this region) if it has a compatible palace. Or if you change civilization level. Did you change civilization level?
I would like to get all the backup turns you have on this situation please, hopefully you did not play too many turns after having the issue.
Send the file(s) to support@slitherine.co.uk, copy-paste the thread URL and title and mention this is for Pocus please.
As for moving the capital, you need to make sure the region which will be the capital is producing the most culture in your empire. Then ask for the dismantlement of the current palace. On the third turn, the capital will move to its destination.

Re: Capital moved from Carthage - how to restore.
Disassembling the governors palace didn't move the capital. I had to disassemble the senate too for another three turns. That did the trick but the capital didn't go to my highest culture region - Carthage it went to Thamalleni in Byzacene. At least that has three walls level but its well below Carthage in culture total and several other cities. Puzzling eh. If you still need the files and they are the ones in the saves folder they total above the email limit even when zipped so whats the best way to get them to you?
Re: Capital moved from Carthage - how to restore.
worth noting its not the region with the highest accumulated culture but the one producing the most at the time of the swap. Doubt this is the explanation but maybe worth double checking?
Re: Capital moved from Carthage - how to restore.
If it did not move to the region with the highest culture output then you can send me the save before the move here:

Re: Capital moved from Carthage - how to restore.
Got the saves, but that's not the highest culture total that counts, but the highest output (it gives more control to the player)

Re: Capital moved from Carthage - how to restore.
Thanks. Does that mean that you have to ensure your capital always has the greatest culture output if you wish to avoid it being relocated?
