How do you reduce administrative burden?

Post by vaalen »

After returning to my existing game after the new patch became live, I was shocked to see how heavy the administrative burden became. The option to play without the administrative burden has been removed. I had checked that when I began the game, having no idea just how big a change that was.

I have a very well developed empire, and the burden is so huge that it is more than twice my income.

What can I do to reduce the administrative burden?

its been renamed:
The option ‘no dynamic burden’, which was never used (from our internal poll) has been replaced by the ‘quick game’ option. If you were playing with ‘no admin burden’, then you are now playing a quick game. But chances you were not
More generally, like all of us you've got used to having too few pop assigned to commerce.

There is also a corrective element to the change - you'll lose a lot of money for a terms then it should come back into line (part of the burden is keying off your money stock), but you'll still need to give more consideration to acquiring money

Yes, and that's important to remember, Administrative Burden is also representing all the wastage and corruption from having an overflowing state treasury. Think of the triumphs, feasts and grandiose monuments built by Rome. So it will reduce to less worrying level when your treasury is around 10.000 or less.

Thank you Loki, that explains it. I basically had no one assigned to commerce. It is great to see that this is tied to how much money you have, as I have a lot of money. I think I will leave the burden on so I can meet the challenge of dealing with this, which is fascinating.

Thank you, Pocus. That is an important factor in that era, of course, and is much more challenging than having a basically unlimited supply of money, and more realistic. Good to know this, and I am gooing to leave the burden on and meet the challenge.

I very much appreciate the prompt reply, both from you and Loki 100.

After looking at the change log, I think this patch will greatly improve an already magnificent game.Great work!

I cannot find the quick game option in the option menu. There is a quick victory option, but it does not remove the administrative burden, and only seems to effect the ratio needed for a quick victory.

Where can I find the Quick Game option?
