Love the game. Decided to download and install the 1.06 patch. Worked well. Except. Nothing I can find will make the game play! No shortcut, no application to be found that will load and play. Seriously, I never thought I was slow, but this game is proving me wrong! What, how, where? Help! :?

Ok, more information for the techies to digest for a better hope of a fix. I play on a WindowsXP machine with 4 GB ram, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and CEAW plays just fine - versions 1.06, 1.06 MOD and 1.07. There simply doesn't seem to be an easy way to get CNAW to start. What gives? Thanks, Brian

Sorry you are having probelms. Are you seeing the desktop icon? Do you see a start menu shortcut? I'mnot clear what the problem you are having is? Which version do you have?

I bought CNAW from Slitherine when it first came out. Worked fine. Downloaded and installed the 1.06 patch. The desktop icon now does nothing. I navigated to the CNAW folder and found another shortcut icon. Clicking it does nothing. Have searched all the folders and can find nothing that loads the game. Overnight a friend shared these instructions, "I had the same problems on my XP machine. Here's how I fixed it:
1. Right click on the desktop shortcut.
2. Click properties
3. in the Target line, delete everything after "...java.exe" and replace with the following text: -Xms256m -Xmx512m -classpath . CNAW

I did that with both the desktop shortcut and the shortcut I found in the CNAW folder. Each time I got the same result - a new small window with a back background and a white flashing icon. The box would not respond and disappeared in about 10 seconds.

So there I am - a game that does not work after downloading and installing a patch from the vender. What new instructions can I get to get back to playing?

Your machine spec might be too low. Did you run high spec mode and do you have 1 GB RAM?

It sounds like something may have got corrupted. The best bet is to uninstall, delete the mydocuments CNAW directory and reinstall from scratch.

Alternatively you could just try deleting the MyDoc CNAW directory initially to see if some odd config file had caused the issue.

4 GB Ram, 2.53 GHz chips - lots of Ram, lots of speed. I will try deleting everything, getting back to a working copy of the earlier CNAW and will try a reinstall.

Thanks, Brian
