BHGS Teams @ London GT - September 14-15th 2019
The BHGS have exciting advance news of a brand new (mostly) team-format event we will be hosting this coming September in North London - the BHGS Historical Events @ The London GT.
This brand new event will take place over the weekend of 14th and 15th September at the Lee Valley Indoor Athletics Centre, in Edmonton, London N9 - the venue has over 500 free parking spaces on site, with rail connections nearby at Ponders End station, and the Underground to Tottenham Hale. As those of you with interests outside the purely historical may already know the London GT is a large multi-ruleset event which has previously focused exclusively on GW-authored game systems. In 2019 the event expands into a great new venue, which has allowed us to add in some historical events to the LGT gaming roster.
The majority of events staged under the BHGS banner will be for multi-player teams, in the process bringing back team-format competitions to their traditional autumn slot on the UK competition calendar.
We will be running team events for FoG A/M, L'Art de La Guerre, Mortem et Gloriam, DBMM as well as individual competitions for Bolt Action and To The Strongest!, and the weekend will also play host to the inaugural Saga World Team Championship.
We already have Tournament Packs available to download for many of the competitions on the BHGS website - http://www.bhgs.org.uk/london-gt-historical-teams.html full details and tickets will be released shortly, however this is another great opportunity to bring the historical and non-historical members of your club or group together for a weekend of gaming action.

Re: BHGS Teams @ London GT - September 14-15th 2019
All,
We have two confirmed entries for the London GT and I'm going to enter a MAWS team in due course - but we need more teams to make this viable. Can you please enter now if you are planning to do so so we can confirm the competitions viability.
If you don't have a team drop myself and Pete Dalby an email and we can carry out a matchmaking exercise.

Re: BHGS Teams @ London GT - September 14-15th 2019
With just two periods now being used, they are as below
Period Two
The age of al Nasir, (Saladin). 1138AD to 1193AD
850 pts, 60 x 40 table
Fatimid Egyptian
Georgian
Seljuk Turk
Italo-Norman and Sicilian
Komnenan Byzantine
Crusader
Ayyubid Egyptian
Allies can only be used if listed above.
Period Three
Remembering the Dragon. The Far East at War. These are armies from the old book Empires of the Dragon
800pts, 72 x 48 table
Book 1
Warring States to Western Han Chinese
Book 2
Three Kingdoms, Western Jin and Southern Dynasties Chinese
Kofun-Nara Japanese
Western Wei or Early Tang Chinese
Tibetan
Book 3
Koryo Korean
Late Heian to Muromachi Japanese
Mongol Conquest, (Mongol only)
Yuan Chinese
Any Allies listed for each army can be used.
So everyone is clear I had added, Mongol only, as it was never the intention to allow Ilkhanid or Tatar as these armies did not come from The Empires of the Dragon book.

Re: BHGS Teams @ London GT - September 14-15th 2019
So is that using the old Empires of the Dragon book lists but with new points, or is it using the equivalent lists in the new books?

Some further information around the weekend
A map of the venue is here:

I haven't decided where the FoG tables are going to be, but annoyingly you can see we are about as far from the bar as we can get.
There is a venue wide PA system that we'll be using for an opening speech just before 10:00 on Saturday morning to quickly cover H&S matters. This will be used for 40k announcements, but I don't consider that FoG will need to be announced over the PA, so I'll just publish the draw as normal.
Armies can be left overnight. If you are particularly paranoid, there are lockers that you can use for £1, but obviously there will be many thousands of pounds of stuff left at the venue and it is locked when we leave - at around 11pm.
There is likely to be high demand for food - especially during peak times betwen 13:00 and 14:00. There is a pre-ordering system where you can pre order food and collect it at a set time which would help.
The bar is open till around 10:30pm, there's not an easy pub nearby - so feel free to stay at the venue and relax, but there is an 11pm lock down.
There is an official awards ceremony on Sunday from 1730-1800. There are 500 banked seats and a stage plus space for 500 more to sit in front, so this should be a pretty impressive way to round out the weekend. I'm not sure if we are going to utilise this ceremony as we finish our last game at 16:30 and some people have a long way to travel. I'll guage opinion over the weeked.
Raffle: There is an excellent raffle with thousands of pounds of stuff to win, this is drawn at the awards ceremony - see me if you want to buy an tickets.
