Leaving MP game
How do you actually leave a multiplayer game, when you have been defeated? I can see I still have to complete my turn, though my faction is destroyed.

Top left button next to settings. Right click. Should give you option to surrender or save turn.

Re: Leaving MP game
I am still not able to get out of this game. I have surrendered three times now, but it still shows up under "my games" in the multiplayer menu.
Re: Leaving MP game
Same situation for me for several of my games that too many people went "idle". I click "surrender" but the game pops up after a while (possibly after the turn timer expires).
Is this going to be fixed in the next patch?

Sorry - turns out I am in the same boat as you. I had thought I'd escaped via that method, but nope, I'm still stuck in those games.

Re: Leaving MP game
If you could provide the name of a game where this happened and the turn numbers when you surrendered and when you were un-surrendered, it could help us track down the issue as we haven't been able to duplicate this in testing. Thank you.
Re: Leaving MP game
I gave this a bit of thought and I think I know what happens and why you cannot replicate it (90% certain). Let me describe the process to get to the bug:AndrewGardner wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 7:47 pm If you could provide the name of a game where this happened and the turn numbers when you surrendered and when you were un-surrendered, it could help us track down the issue as we haven't been able to duplicate this in testing. Thank you.
1) Start a multiplayer game.
2) Surrender.
3) You can no longer play your turn, but technically are still in the game.
4) Crucial step: Wait X amount of turns to pass in the game until you are flagged "idle" (I say "X" because I don't know how many turns it takes to be flagged as "idle").
5) As soon as you are flagged "idle", you are asked to play your turn again. If you surrender at that point, you are still asked to play on the turn after as you're still flagged as "idle" in the game.
To sum up, "surrendering" a MP game does not remove the player from the game- it simply stops them from being able to play their turn. However, this is only true while the player is not flagged "idle" in-game. As soon as they are flagged "idle", they get asked to play their turn again.
The developers cannot replicate the issue because they do not skip enough turns for the player that surrendered to be flagged as "idle".
Am I right?

Re: Leaving MP game
Seriously? Every single game that I've surrendered on, I've been resurrected like 24-48 hours later. How in the holy hell are you not catching that in your tests?AndrewGardner wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 7:47 pm If you could provide the name of a game where this happened and the turn numbers when you surrendered and when you were un-surrendered, it could help us track down the issue as we haven't been able to duplicate this in testing. Surrender.
Everyone else plays turns.
Surrendered player still sees the game in their to-be-played queue.
There's literally no way to permanently leave a game at this point.

Same, all the games i surrendered i still have them on the lobby.
Re: Leaving MP game
I'm pretty sure it's because the developers didn't go through enough turns when trying to replicate the issue. Refer to my previous post for instructions how to replicate issue.

Re: Leaving MP game
In one of my games (the Epirus game!) I got beaten and lost all my land in the first few turns (I never surrendered). I still get the game in my active game list and I still 'play the game' (which involves watching the turn action - all I can see is the Epirus lands and the armies and navies around them) so that the active players don't have to wait for my move to time out and resolve the players move.
I'm not sure if this is the same as surrender issue, but it may be another one to consider.

Functionally, that's exactly what I've been experiencing in the games where I - did - surrender and attempt to leave. Re: Leaving MP game
On a similar issue, I have a game which started with 3 players. The other 2 stopped playing. I therefore also stopped. The game remains in my folder even though the date for completion of moves was 29th August.
