Has somebody already experimented with it? What does it do exactly? Is it possible to "abuse" it for new unit ideas?

New unit trait "veteranUpgrade"
There's a new trait with the Soviet Guards infantry units: "veteranUpgrade"

Where exactly did you see the word "veteranUpgrade"?GabeKnight wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 1:35 pm There's a new trait with the Soviet Guards infantry units: "veteranUpgrade"
It's not mentioned for the Gds in the Nav Tool, and I can't see it on the units themselves in the editor.

Re: New unit trait "veteranUpgrade"
This new unit trait seems directly related to specialization, I do not feel that this feature can be used for other units

Re: New unit trait "veteranUpgrade"
Thanks, Spike, for your effort, but I was talking about the unit trait, not the spec. It's found in the units file; with the units...
Now I'll have to come up with some ideas for a reasonable application in the game...
No, just tested it with an "elite" version of the KV2: It works as upgrade for other units as well. Nice.terminator wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 7:53 pm This new unit trait seems directly related to specialization, I do not feel that this feature can be used for other units![]()

Good news, it would then be possible to have Guards Tanks and Guards Artillery ?GabeKnight wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 5:31 pm Thanks, Spike, for your effort, but I was talking about the unit trait, not the spec. It's found in the units file; with the units...

Did you use a new specialization or the existing Guards Infantry specialization ?

Re: New unit trait "veteranUpgrade"
You don't need a spec for the trait to work. The "Guard" spec is basically just limiting the purchase of the units.terminator wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 7:46 pm Good news, it would then be possible to have Guards Tanks and Guards Artillery ?

But the trait obviously unlocks access to the new units to any 4-star unit inside the same unit-class. The possibilities are interesting, at the least.
