How Does Multiplayer Work With More Than 2 Players?

Post by canuckgamer »

I assume that multiplayer is through the same server as Field of Glory 2. How does it work when there are more than 2 players in a multiplayer game. Since it is WEGO, I am thinking all players do their moves, and then end their turn. What happens if player A has a battle with player C or maybe even more than one of his opponents. What kind of replay do players see? Is it everything that happened on the map or only actions applicable to their faction? I'm thinking this game might be suitable for me and three gaming friends to try multiplayer. Thanks.

Hi

It works very smoothly with up to 16 players.

The person setting up the game decides how long the time limit should be to get your turn in. Most choose between 24 and 48 hours but you can choose much longer periods. As soon as all players have done their turns within the time limit the turn is played out and it appears in your lobby like FoG2 as being ready for your turn.

If one of more players has not completed their turn by time limit then the turn proceeds once the time limit is reached.

The playback you see depends on the options chosen on set up. If there is got of war chosen ( recommended) you see only what is in your territory or in one land region outside. Certain advanced harbours and defended also give you visibility into coastal sea areas off your territory.

All battles are shown that are within the sight of your troops or navy or within your borders or those of your allies.
