There are some things that would vastly enhance the Scenario Editor (if this is not the right place, please move or advise):
1) For the Rough Terrain, there needs to be an option to hide the units (at least short of armor/tracked vehicles): this would be extremely useful in building scenarios in Italy and Alsace so that you don't have to insert forests into an area, which automatically would indicate hidden units, unless there are many forested hexes, which obviates the utility of Rough Terrain. Just a switch/button/option to hide the units. It would also be extremely useful in any case in which units are attempting to traverse rough terrain in which enemy units have had a chance to set up defenses using ravines, crevasses, etc as cover (such as Iwo Jima, mountains around Anzio, Monte Cassino, Vosges, etc)
2) Ability to somehow superimpose a map (and resize it as necessary) over the scenario while working in the scenario editor. In many cases, there are engagement maps that are highly informative that currently must be resized and superimposed on the template (a very difficult task in many cases getting the scales and features matched up), saved, and tested in the editor.
3) Ability to work on the scenario in Play Mode while in the editor.
4) Somehow link the town or VP name to the location so you can check it quickly (e.g., right click on the feature to reveal the name.)

I don't understand your number 2) unless it's because you missed this in the Scenario Editor Manual. Yet, you do mention "template" so maybe it is my misunderstanding what you are saying.

Re: Wish List for Scenario Editor
I'm not being clear. Ability to add overlays while in the editor in addition to the template. It's a pain in the butt to have to update the template to add a battle map over the existing template. It'd be a lot easier to have some sort of built-in bitmap editor within the scenario editor so you could fool around with it without exiting the scenario editor to update the template.
That's a tall order, high on my wish list but I would guess a low priority for the Artistocrats.

For fooling around with a template...
It would be really nice to be able to zoom in/out on the template and move the template around.
It is way too much work currently to add a new template if you need to make the template fit the OOB map.
This would be helpful 'cause there are normally several maps what could be used for a template.
A tall order indeed

Thanks for clarifying, conboy. Yes, these are wishing upon a star, indeed. But, you never know and it doesn't hurt to ask. Things have clicked in the past.

Dang tooten, Erik!
Maybe use layers - lots of graphics software uses layers and you can move a small map over a big map and resize the template, just as you said.
gee whillickers, miz mcgillicuddy! I can't wait!
